I first heard Duffy on a long car journey on a friend's mixtape, the track was Rockferry. My friend skipped the track in impatient disgust, which drove me mad! I'm usually into my alternative stuff but I like a bit of everything in my collection, so I have something to listen to for every mood. I love this album because it's feminine, heartfelt, sweet and singable. I'm not mad on the last three tracks but they're by no means awful, I just prefer the others. I feel I can relate to Duffy in all her strengths and weaknesses. Some have compared her unfavourably to Amy Winehouse, who I also like, but Duffy doesn't have the selfish, bitchy airs and is lovely to listen to when you have some alone-time.

The original version of Good Girl Gone Bad is a great RnB album with some catchy pop hooks and great beats. The singles such as Umbrella and Don't Stop The Music are obviously standout tracks, and Rihanna's shown off a very soulful side on tracks such as Rehab and Cry.
The problem is that this re-release (as with most re-releases) is NOT worth owning if you already bought the original, as most of Rihanna's fans will have. Having to purchase an entire album again for the sake of three tracks - however good those three tracks are - is just a waste of money. You'd be much better off downloading the extra tracks from iTunes or somewhere for a couple of pounds instead of forking out for the entire album again. If you count it up, there have ... Read More:

Closer was obviously a massive hit and coupled with Neyo's Radio 1 live lounge performance, it got me thinking this Ne-Yo fella wasn't bad at all. Then out comes Miss Independent with that addictive rhythm and great pad sound. I thought, it's time to buy...
Disappointed is an understatement. If you take those two great tracks out you wouldn't look twice at this album.
Lesson of the day, always pre-listen to the tracks through iTunes before buying. In this case, buy the two tracks through iTunes and forget the album.

I don't deny that this young girl has a nice voice, albeit not the greatest, but I cannot listen to this album the whole way through. I loved Chasing Pavements, but despite some OK tracks nothing else stands out, and it could all have been so much better. First and foremost, it's so depressing. I've tried a few times but I find it hard to listen to the whole album without either falling asleep or wanting to cut my wrists. Also, as I said she has a nice voice, but it might be even nicer if I could understand anything she's singing. Thank God there's lyrics in the booklet. And finally, the instruments. Adele really needs to get much more experience playing guitar as it ranges from mediocre to just awful, and this shows particularly on Best For Last.
On her debut album "Frank", Amy had already demonstrated her budding genius with tracks like "Stronger Than Me" and the stunning "Take The Box". On "Back To Black" she seizes her place among the immortals with a collection of songs that to my knowledge is unequalled in Pop history. The album is so chock-full of classics that it is hard to know where to start. This is authentic modern London jazzy soul that sounds as good as - if not better than - anything that has ever been produced by Motown or Philly - or anyone.
What distinguishes it from all else in the current music scene is the sheer quality of the songwriting. The only track that is not an instant classic is "Some Unholy War" - a good track, but not a solid gold hit like the other ten numbers here. The album kicks ... Read More:

B.B.King maybe now in his eighties,he may sit down to play these days on stage but I'll tell you what,he's still the king of the blues and that's not just in his name. This album, produced by T Bone Burnette ( who produced the Robert Plant/Alison Krauss multi- award winning album last year)is a collection of blues classics never before recorded by BB.This is a totally wonderful album, and may well go down as one of his best albums ever. He's in top form throughout, with a band that includes Dr. John and Jim Keltner T-Bone has brought a truly classic album out, produced with a classic 50's blues sound, yet with a pure and beautiful sound balance throughout. This is an album no true blues or should I say music fan should miss.Without doubt blues album of the year if not one of the great blues albums ... This is rnb at its worse..bland style hip hop/rnb beats over a good singers voice..the boy can sing for sure but apart from "take you down" and "with you" the quality control on this album is appalingly bad. i was actually listening to some 70's and 80's rnb today and it reminded me of how bad some modern soul/rnb is these days..theres no melody or musicality to most of the tracks. With you is a great track though but this isnt great at all.
