The Carter 3 is a good album , but is Waynes weakest by far.
If you havnt heard the old Carters then i suggest that you listen to them before claiming C3 is Waynes greatest album. Dont get me wrong C3 is still a top album ( 5 Stars ) but i think it is highly overated. Most Recognisable Tracks include Lil Waynes hit Lollipop Ft Static Major. A Millie And Got Money Ft T-Pain Artist such as Juelz Santana, Fabolous, Bobby Valentino and Jay-Z also feature among others. I recomend this album to anyone but suggest that listeners also listen to Waynes early work Eg. The Carters 1 & 2 , 500 Degreez. Also Waynes Mixtapes Eg. The song 'Dead and Gone' is the standout track on the album!
Lil Wayne sounds awful on 'Swagga Like Us' and if you heard that before Tha Carter 3 then I don't think he would've sold a quarter than what he has. A solid album from TI with enough Raw tracks and a couple of Radio Friendly songs thrown in for him to make his $$$. >>More Details |

LAX is a MUST buy album for Game and Hip-Hop fans.
I disagree with the people complaining about there is to many tracks. There is alot of tracks but each one of them is good so too many tracks isnt something i would complain about. Most Recognisable tracks are Games Pain Ft Keyshia Cole My Life Ft Lil Wayne Dope Boys Ft Travis Barker And Big Dreams ( Deluxe Adition only ) Hip-Hop Legends such as Ice Cube, Nas and Raekwon Feature. Aswell as other artists such as Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo and Ludacris among others. LAX is a must buy album and i would recomend it to anyone. To me, this was one of the best albums of 2003 (Speakerboxx/The Love Below won it for me). If you want to listen to hip-hop that steps outside of the box, this is definitely one you will like. While some tracks are better than others, there aren't really any that you will skip over straight away. Many albums have that (Kanye Graduation = Drunk and Hot Girls = Trash) so you've got to appreciate that Jay-Z put some thought into this instead of just filling the gap with generic tracks. Also this album has a HELL of a lot of highlights, including 'Public Service Announcement' (Which was meant to be an INTERLUDE!!!), and of course the well known 'Dirt Off Your Shoulders'. First bona fide Rap album I ever bought back in the late '80s. I confess, it was Thrash Metal veterans, Anthrax constantly banging on about them that convinced me!
Great album with perhaps the most intelligent lyrics ever written for a Rap cd - even though I don't agree with many of the opinions expressed, I respect them. A production that was way ahead of the time, with great beats, basslines & samples, with a near perfect vocal balance between the intense and angry Chuck D and the more eccentric Flavor Flav. It's easy to see why this had appeal to the Metal crowd with it's heavy, urban tone, militaristic imagery and incendiary attitudes. if you though that jay z just made popcorn rap, and never really thought he was worth your time, or just thought he was an overrated commercialized rapper, listen to it, because it proves how talented he actually is, this album is a classic in every sense of the word, it has something most rap albums nowadays lack, subject matter, lyrics, beats, meaning and originality, this album is basically chronicling the ups and downs, regrets and joys of being a hustler, the beats to start off with are great, this album was mostly produced by dj premiere, and he did a fantastic job, the production is clean, crisp, and fit jay zs flow and lyrics, my next point, the lyrics, the lyrics are some of the best rap lyrics ever, jay z has a great mutli-syllable rhyming scheme, it is amazing ...
