With lots of albums, I have to listen numerous times before I am able to form a definitive opinion on them.
Not so with The Reminder. From the very opening of So Sorry I was encapsulated. The album's a real emotional journey, with beautifully soft and bare songs such as The Park well complemented by the catchy I Feel It All and Sea Lion Woman to name but a few, which you can't help but tap your foot to. As ever from the Eagles, very polished and great listening, but no track especially stands out like Hotel California or many other of thier earlier tracks. Great service from Amazon as always

Back ground music this is not! This album is full of extraordinary sounds and feelings that are powerful and strange. It is impossible to listen to this as background music, but if you enjoy music for the range of emotions and physical experiences it evokes you will love this album. Yes, there is the trademark Albarn waltz underlying "I love Buddha", and the more westernised tracks tend to be underpinned by thumping Gorillaz baselines, but this album is as strange and different as it should be. There is no English, but Mandarin, many of the instruments are strange, and the melodies are rooted in Chinese folk traditions. You will either find this album wierd and inaccessible, or utterly exhilerating. Deserves to be listened to properly and loudly!!

I can't think of any reason for why people gives this album three or even one star??? How can you critisize an album which is made up by previous hit singles. After my opinion a Single Collection is never bad, and especially not this.
Here are all the favorite Sugababes songs gathered on one cd. Could it get any better?! No, of course not!! Every single track on this cd is splendid; the no 1 hits Push the Button, Hole in the Head, Round,Round, and Freak like Me gives you a good headach. And not too mension the hit ballads Too lost in you, Stronger, and Ugly. And the new and sexy single Easy gives the single collection the final touch. My initial interest in Jordin Sparks happened without me even knowing it. My bus driver was playing an album one night after school and as soon as I began to listen to these songs I really liked the music. It was so rhythmical and her voice made me feel so good after a long school day. I only heard up to track six for most of the time, but I loved the songs. I really wanted to know who this was. One track that particularly captivated me was No air, which I could tell was a duet. The power in that song that I felt from the very beginning has stayed with me.

This is one of those classic albums that everyone has to own, and it is a very special record.
There are so many brilliant songs on this album; personal favourites are Out On The Weekend, Heart Of Gold and Old Man, but every track is just as brilliant as the previous and next. The overall feel is just mellow and relaxed in terms of musical arrangement and vocal delivery, but the lyrics are intense in their depths of heartfelt emotion. It sounds too simple to be this good, with very modest and unassuming instruments and a harmonica, which adds to the feel of the heart of the American countryside/prairies. When people think of ABBA they automatically think of the big hits; Dancing Queen, Waterloo, Mamma Mia etc. But if you look beyond these, you'll find that they were so much more than a hit factory.
They had incredible song writing talent, and this was consistant throughout, right up to this album. This is one of my favourite albums ever, it's just so east to listen to. There are no big numbers which over shadow the rest of the album, which, believe it or not, is a good thing. The tracks somehow manage to segue into one another while mainting their own identity. I have always been a fan of Eno and was a fan of Talking Heads from their first album and have a large collection of bother their albums, which I listen to a lot. So I was really excited about this release; the cover art suggests that this is not just a side project so my hopes were high.
The liner notes from both Byrne and Eno sound very encouraging, so imagine then my disappointment when I put this on my CD player. This is just dull and bland and I say that as someone who loves Eno's ambient music as well as his early song based ablums. I think because Eno stuck (largely) to doing the music and Byrne stcuk (largely) to the lyrics they have somehow cancelled out eachothers energy and we are left wioth a lifeless bunch of songs that seem to go nowhere. >>More Details |

I wasn't sure, I'm a huge Queen fan but the thought of Queen without Freddie made me shudder. I saw a performance of C-Lebrity on TV and found it very entertaining which convinced me that perhaps I should be thinking of Queen with Paul Rodgers as a new band and not comparing old with new. Glad I did, a cracking album! I write this after my second listen, very enjoyable, nothing particularly deep and meaningful IMO just the guys doing what they do best and having fun with it.
