The music is almost perfect, played by almost perfect musicians and sung by an almost perfect voice. There are distinct strains of Gloria Gaynor recorded in a manner that pays tribute to that great time in music. This could be the most perfect tribute album but, in it's own right, it is a fabulous piece of Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. I'm so pleased I bought this.

Ive been a steward at the North Wales Theatre at Llandudno for over five years and have seen the Stylistics on four occasions and they are still one of the most professional and harmonious soul coloured groups in the business.
I have also met them in person and was very impressed with their willingness to sign their cds this one included and pose for photographs and also have a chat with admiring fans. Some people ive met not saying any names are the direct opposite of their stage personality but the Stylistics are really pleasant guys.
Their music on the other hand is superb with gorgeous harmonies not dissimilar to the BeeGees but very Motown Soul.
anyone needing a new path away from the tried and tested commercial motown sound need to look no further than this collection of gems.searling has put together a very entertaining and original bunch of absolute quality tunes.bring on volume 3.

A rather different sound to their more instrumental efforts earlier in the 70's. Many pop anthems here, including Ladies Night and Celebration. Go on, strut your funky stuff !!!

This is the first Jackie Wilson CD that I have bought and it did not disappoint. I bought this 2 disc CD just for one track; (your love keeps lifting me) Higher & Higher. The only other Jackie Wilson song I knew before listening to this CD, the other song being 'Reel Petite'. So this is a great introduction to Jackie Wilson if you like his music, but are unfamiliar with his other songs.
