Having no prior experience of A7X, I bought this album on the strength of the single, "Almost Easy" and I wasn't disappointed. It is full of great tracks with strong, aggressive melodies, inventive guitar work and the production is crisp and clear. I think the crital comparisons with previous albums are very unfair. I subsequently bought Waking the Fallen on the strength of the A7X brand and I immediately saw the huge progression that the band has made. M. Shadows learned to sing somewhere between these records and all that silly screaming so beloved of 14 year old boys has stopped. Yes, the band has gone a lot more commercial and stadium orientated but if they hadn't, I would never have heard of them. This is one to play in the car, nice and ... Read More:

The definitive Hendirx cd, brilliantly produced it ranges from low beat blues records such as 'voodoo chile' to upbeat rock records in 'crosstown traffic' to great covers in the form of 'all along the watchtower'.
The 'wah-wah' effect on 'voodoo child slight return' is ledgendary and will be remembered until the end of man.
The guitar playing on '1983...(A Merman I Should Turn To Be)' is brilliant and really suits the pysecdelic theme of the song.

I like a variety of music from country through to thrash metal. Enjoy listening to Roy Harper and Bob Dylan so I thought I would give Neil Young a try. Knew nothing about this album before I bought it but the gravely, drawn, folk/rock melodies are simply excellent. I definetly will be purchasing more.

This album was a revelation when I first heard it a couple of years after Cobain's death. For the most part I hadn't connected with Nirvana's grungier sound. The Unplugged format provides a sparse and paired back sound, releasing the raw power and passion of Cobain's voice. Favorite's are Something In the Way, Dumb, On a Plain and most especially the cover of the Meat Puppets Plateau. As others have mentioned the closing cover of Leadbelly's Where Did You Sleep Last Night is remarkable in its intensity.
Unlike many other live albums the post production has left all the chat and banter between Cobain and the band in the mix; this allows the listener to feel part of a very special concert. In conclusion you don't have to be a big fan of ... Read More:

Firstly, I wouldn't generally bother writing a review about anything. The fact that I've bothered here should say a little about the quality of this album. I feel I owe it to the boys for creating the best album of this decade.
When I first heard Burn The Witch nearer the start of this year, I was actually very disappointed. I must say, I'm not a big fan of that song at all. I almost didn't bother persuing Stone Gods at this point but I'm so glad I did!
My Highlights:
You Brought A Knife To A Gunfight - What a fantastic song! The chorus will make you smile. And, let's face it, this absolutely rocks. Reminds me of when they actually knew how to make music.
I have both of Paramores albums, and have to say that this one is my favourite. Its a brilliant album from start to finish, anyone who likes rock/punk kind of music will really enjoy this. Tracks that stand out are "All we know", "Emergency", and a more quiet song "Franklin". Seriously if you havent heard Paramore, then you have to give this a try, you won't be dissappointed!!

I love this album! At first I thought the second cd was boring, but after having heard it a few more times I liked it more and more, and now I think I like the quiet one even better than the loud one. I love the melodies and the calm sound, it`s great!

'Rust Never Sleeps' is an intriguing, odd and at times excellent album with songs which must rank among Neil Young's finest. The album was recorded on the road during the 'Comes A Time' 1978 tour and it's a half acoustic, half electric affair. The majority of the tracks were either recorded in one take or live in concert but because the audience is omitted during the mix the album isn't 'live' but yearns to be.You will need to purchase the excellent 'Live Rust' to appreciate the actual tour concerts and includes four of the nine songs here.
'Rust Never Sleeps' however does contain some of Neil Young's strongest compositions. It begins with the acoustic 'My My Hey Hey' which is aimed at the music industry and 'Pocahontas' is one of Young's finest pieces of work, pitiful ... Read More:
