Demon Days improves massively from the Gorillaz debut with an album chock full of memorable, innovative pop, garnished with effervescent production. If anything, the cartoon imagery (or you could call it marketing) sticks less easily to this album, with moments of folksy downbeat like 'Every Planet we Reach is Dead' sounding like an outtake from Blur's excellent Think Tank LP. Opener 'Last Living Souls' cuts up Albarn's deadpan vocals against crisp beats and retro synths while 'Kids with Guns' follows in a similar vein before ascending into a post-rocking sonic climax. 'O Green World' is drowsy, 21st century funk, and the brilliant, booty-shaking 'Feel Good Inc.' has to be one of the singles of the year, even if it was used for a certain television ... Read More:

harrowing, infectual and experimental sounds make this a far superior offering to the pedestrian dummy.thats no too say dummy is lazy or derivative it has some great tracks and a consistant theme but i think it never really climaxed like this self titled lp. cringeworthy certainly not gorgeous and expressive absolutely rarely groups have the integrety to produce music that attempts something new and in doing so pushes the boundaries for a greater experience in their second helping i strongly reccomend this for anyone who is ready to emerce themselves in the greatness this sublime album has to offer
This album was one of my first tastes of a new genre of music.
I cant recommend this enough, very deep insightful. The tunes kinda flow togther and they are masterfully crafted.
I personaly love to stick this on late at night after a hards days work, get some candles on, turn off the lights and maybe a crafty smoke chill and chat to friends or that special person.
The more you listen the more it grows on you. Its uniqueness is part of its charm and i couldnt imagine anyone not rating this as immense.
I'd only heard the odd track by Warp's new prodigy Flying Lotus from what i presume were his previous releases, and they gave me the impression that this was an artist with an idea on how to take glitch-hop and turn it into his own 'thing', but didn't have the focus to push it through.
How this album proved me wrong. On reading a couple of positive reviews comparing his to prefuse 73, who is a personal favourite, and claiming that he was 'inspiring a new generation of warp-heads', i bought the album and am thoroughly gratefully i did.
The mix of inventive percussion, skipping glitchy beats, synth patterns, and hints of vocals really comes together, and is bound together by some really slick and beautiful production, which elevates him above ... Read More:

This album is amazing whether you are a Tricky fan or not. After seeing him perform two tracks from this album on Later with Jools i couldn't wait for it's release! I wasn't disappointed. If this album was only half as good i still wouldn't have been. It's got everything. Council Estate has an energy i haven't heard or felt since Punk and Two Tone were born. Puppy Toy is a really strong song - it's funny too! Veronika is Powerful because of it's starkness and the lyrics, and it grows on you. C'mon Baby is one of my favourites becouse it's so catchy without being naff and has great lyrics! Buy This Album if you're a fan, try it if you're not!

I think anyone who browses this site will soon realise that the price and quality of cds are rarely related. Here we have another example of a GREAT cd available for pennies. Marvin Gaye would have been happy to have recorded "It's not that easy", Mobile DJs around the country would be wise to invest in this disc for Lemar's duet with Joss Stone for Silver Wedding celebrations and as for the collaboration with the always excellent Mica Paris and Styles P, WOW !. You will rarely here such a complete Urban/R&B tune as "Can't you see".You may have guessed already but I RATE this album. It joins my list of bargain soul buys - see my other reviews for more excellent soul with change from a quid.

As a long time Alabama 3 fan and owner of every single album they have produced this is a complete success. I have spent years trying to recruit fellow music lovers to acquire a taste for thier bizarre music without much success. Now, with this album I can.

I usually don't like albums by any artists, because there is a few good tracks, and the rest is rubbish. Well, with this one - it's almost all perfect tracks with a couple that's only 8/10. Make sure you listen to this. It's something that the radios haven't played to boredom - but it's just as good, if not better. I wish the artist would get picked up even more - as he would rightfully deserve, for this is mature, quality R'n'B material. I think it ranks among the best. Why? I can't tell. If I could, it would mean it fits a scheme. It doesn't. It's just good. Listen to it, and You'll know what I am talking about. If I ever chose someone to be the fan of, it would be Jay Sean for this album (even though the first one, "Me against myself" was great as well). The ... Read More:
