This is probably the best compilation album of Stevie's work and that's great but I urge you all to use this as a taster of his work, there is lots of it and if you buy anything before 1980 you will love it if you like this. Unfortunately he's done nothing of real note after the 1970's and that was where his key work was done. The trilogy of talking book, innvervisions and Songs in the key of life are treasures to be explored in their won right and you should all do so, personally although songs in the key of life is seen as his masterpiece it was a double album brain dump of everything he was working on and contains material that is weaker than the shorter talking book and innvervisions, with Innvervisions representing his finest (non compilation) ... I was a bit disappointed with the album after having read all the glowing reviews on Amazon. The lyrics are good and the production is interesting but apart from William's blood and I'm crying the melodies are frankly boring.

I bought this albulm off the back of really liking the single 'Spotlight'and I was not disappointed. It is a really good albulm with a great mix of songs on it, I don't think there was one that I flicked through. I think that Jennifer Hudson has a brilliant voice and this really shows it off.

When this album hit the shops Pres.Kennedy had just been assasinated.As no one felt like celebrating-so they say-the album was a total flop and warehouses all over the country had 1000s of returned copies.
Understandably Spector was annoyed after all that work! Probably the fact that the Singing Nun represented that years Christmas hit! In 1964 the British Invasion which gave a boost to his career as the Ronettes toured the U K and the man came here to nob with the Stones and his British answer Andrew Loog Oldham who would prove beneficial. as for the Beatles they would be his Saviour and by the early 70s both Harrison and Lennon had increased his bank balance considerably as well as his ego.Plus the fact that Apple had reissued the Christmas album. I thought i was listening to a cover of Mambo no. 5. The singing doesn't even sound like Alesha either. I'm sure it will be a big party hit though but she should have released it in the summer.

This deluxe edition of Michael Jackson the king of pop has a lot more to it in terms of more songs that would have been found on the number ones best of like Dirty Diana whilst disc 3 has a number of classic rarities that have never been released before like can't get outta the rain a single b-side edit that has never been released before and boosted by the thriller megamix which may not be to eveybody elses tastes but atleast this has a lot more to it than the single disc version which i felt was lightweight in comparison to the deluxe box set edition of Michael Jackson the king of pop.
