The most uplifting album I've heard for a while. This album is packed with boisterous, singalong classics that fulfill the promise of Costello Music. This is a better album. The Fratellis have obviously gained in confidence and there is evidence of abundant songwriting and technical skill here. On first listen, I was struck by musical reminders of Artic Monkeys (My Friend John), Suede(Lupe Brown), Waterboys and Kasabian (Tell Me a Lie), for example. This was a departure from Costello Music which had a consistent Slade feel. The variety of styles is welcome and promises even better for the future because it suggests a good understanding of what it takes to write great songs.

I bought the special edition with the book, DVD, CDs with outtakes, auditions, missing pieces etc. But I also wanted to hear The War Of The Worlds in ultra high quality SACD.
Well, I feel let down. The quiet parts get cut, e.g. echoes pop in and out. It seems the recording engineer has cut all sound below a certain level from the mix tapes.
Going back to my original CD version, there is certainly more noise but there is also a hell of lot more depth to the sound. Playing them side by side, I hear a complete change in the mixes right the way through. I noticed that the vocals of the SACD are muted by comparison to the CD version.
This is not what SACD is about, this recording sounds like an early 80s digital ... Read More:

So here it is - the best selling songs from the best selling band ever. The idea behind this compilation is that all the songs were Number One singles either in the UK or US. Sounds fairly simple, but in fact browsing the negative reviews on here shows many people complaining about this CD. Main criticisms are either that a Beatles greatest hits isn't necessary because people ought to buy the individual albums, or moans about certain tracks being omitted (Strawberry Fields Forever has been mentioned a lot - yes it might very well be the Beatles' best single but it didn't reach No. 1).
While it is true that the Beatles are a band best bought album-by-album, this is a great purchase for newbies or people with a casual interest in this legendary band. ... Read More:

I can only echoe the glowing reviews of this title but a note of caution. The small lettering on the package reveals that the DVD content features strobe lighting effects. Such effects can adversely affect those with certain neurological conditions.

Queen are the most overrated band ever. This collection does contain the odd decent song but most songs here are trivial, soul-less, hollow and very very empty. The world's most pointless band!

I don't really know what to say about this, seeing that it's the first Pink Floyd album i've ever bought, except that it's very, very, good, But if you're looking for happy, cheerful music, look elsewhere, because although it contains a wide range of moods such as anger, fear, and bleak sadness, there's not a jolly tune anywhere. David Gilmours' guitar is simply ace, and effect of Roger Water's biting, sarcastic lyrics is heightened by his powerful voice. Makes a solid listen, especially the second disc, but as the tracks are all merged together by random sound effects like furious teachers and aeroplane engines it's hard to put individual tracks on an MP3 or ipod but forget about that anyway because it's supposed to be a single work. Overall not a waste of money, next ... Read More:

To say Nick Cave isn't the force he once was, is like saying Vlad the Impaler had minor anger management issues. Glories LONG gone, he's resorting to loose balladeering and conventional rock in a vain and desperate attempt to disguise the fact he's got nothing new to say and should've given up on this music thing a long time ago.
A new Nick Cave album is cause for despair, where once it was cause for celebration. Ok, you can't go on re-living past triumphs (ask Morrissey) but the guy must have SOME of that early threat and purpose kicking around somewhere. Where's the gusto and urgency that drove classics like 'Nick the Stripper' or 'Mr Clarinet' ?
He's become a rock dullard, a pale imitation, a caricature of all he once meant.
He's got a hopeless band ... Read More:

...if you havnt heard of muse...please turn off your PC and jump off a cliff as your not worth living!
This CD/DVD is amazing !
like many others - I was at this gig. But i went to BOTH dates that weekend (16th and 17th) I had a seat for the saturday and i got RIGHT TO THE FRONT on the 17th (and was delighted to find out they were filming the DVD for that night!) I just WISH WISH WISH...Muse played 'microcuts' on the sunday instead of the saturday as its their BEST SONG BY FAR ! i went mental when they played it on the saturday. (as i had a bet with my mate who is the biggest muse fan ever - that they would play it) i won...and he had to eat his trainer!
(you can actually see me in this- and my parents laughed when they saw) lol
and this DVD ... Read More:

I can't think of any reason for why people gives this album three or even one star??? How can you critisize an album which is made up by previous hit singles. After my opinion a Single Collection is never bad, and especially not this.
Here are all the favorite Sugababes songs gathered on one cd. Could it get any better?! No, of course not!!
Every single track on this cd is splendid; the no 1 hits Push the Button, Hole in the Head, Round,Round, and Freak like Me gives you a good headach. And not too mension the hit ballads Too lost in you, Stronger, and Ugly. And the new and sexy single Easy gives the single collection the final touch.
But we must not forget the other top-charts songs that is to find here; Red Dress, In the Middle, Shape, Caught in a Moment, ... Read More:
