Just how did they decide which song should be a single. With perhaps the exception of Wooden Boat, all of these songs could have been a single. All the lads take a turn at singing lead and all take credit for the combined work. A truly incredible feat, for the best selling band in the country to take 10 years off, not only come back but come back better. If this is a refection of what we are to expect in the future I can't wait for the next album

Unlike some other reviewers I never listen to Radio 1 and I am immune to any hype that's going around. This is a refreshing and different sound and I would recommend it to anyone. Like other old farts I was a fan of Paul Simon's African phase, and love the sound. I get the impression these guys are doing this for the joy of the music, not to get more sales, and to me that makes all the difference.

It is great to hear new material by the Verve. I do not agree that this sounds like a Richard Ashcroft solo record, it is far superior to that.... It contains outstanding songs including Sit and Wonder and Judas. Not sure why this has had negative reviews as the material is pure quality.

... in this greatest hits selection. The classics both old and new plus some lesser known songs. An excellent compilation to augment any music collection. Buy and remember, although songs like "Maggie May" have never really gone away and sound as fresh today as they did back in the early seventies. An album like this makes you realise just how timeless Rod Stewart's music and songs are. Superb music and this double CD is excellent value.Enjoy!

This compilation album needs little introduction as it has sold a zillion copies or something ;), and there is a reason for that. Nobody, not even The Beatles have created a finer collection of pop songs. Pop is often sneered at by some hoity toity music lovers, but there is no need. A finely crafted 3 minute pop tune can be just as meaningful and exquisite as any other piece of music. The tunes Bjorn & Benny created will live on forever, and the girls singing stays in your mind so very easily.
For me this is not their ultimate collection, as I liked more of the bitter-sweet songs they did like Eagle and The Day Before You Came. But that's a personal preference. This compilation contains all the biggest hits, including some of the camp/hi-nrg stuff ... Read More:

I kind of trusted on the reviews.Ok there are some great songs on it,the classic but also a lot of rubbish.A great number of songs (even some famous ones) sound like they were recorded with electronic music.
I'm going to look for a cd with maybe less songs but more quality.
