This was the very first rap album I ever purchased and will always have sentimental value to me. I like every track on this album but I think the standout for me is the title track. Every Ice T fan should own this album. It is a 1988 classic in my eyes..

Xzibit, a man who's commercial success has seen his popularity with the rap "gangsta's" decline brings to the table this album. As if that wasn't bad enough, he's not got beef with the new kid on the block: The Game. So, perhaps this has affected his album as this does not live upto the levels of 'Restless' and 'Man vs. Machine' the record has it's high points don't get me wrong - songs like Hey Now will never fail to get any dance floor moving and Criminal Set has that type of beat that commands attention. But then there's fillers, and plenty of them. Xzibit still is a skilled artist, he's just too commercial. Instead of Pimpin' rides, maybe he should Pimp his backroom staff and get some better producers in as this album fails ... Read More:

2001 is easily one of the most influential, trendsetting and important albums in west coast rap/hip-hop. Bringing west coast into the 21st century. If you like this sort of music then its got to be in your stack. Dre's 'The Chronic' is equaly as good and worth having too, just alot more old skool than this. Some great skits too giving the album a humourous edge to boot. Anyone giving it a 1 star should go buy some Vanilla Ice. ;)

The album is a classic! Yes, we may have heard all the songs before, but all together on one timeless album that you will never get sick of hearing! It features some of the greatest West Coast rappers that we have ever seen. Artists such as Tupac, Snoop, Cube and Dre himself. The tracks are also refreshing, with a great mix of old-skool; such as Aint Nuthin' But A G-Thang, and of course California Love. Coupled with some of the more light hearted works such as Gin & Juice, it is a great album to play, then kick back and relax!

The D.O.C. was born and brought up in Texas and was one of the first artists to be signed by Dr. Dre. He, along with Ice Cube and MC Ren wrote the majority of material for the early N.W.A. albums, and after a car accident which severed his vocal cords, was kept as Dre's "secret weapon" on many of the albums he was involved in, including "The Chronic" and Snoop Doggy Dogg's "Doggystyle."
"No One Can Do It Better" is The D.O.C.'s first and only solo album completed with his original smooth, flowing voice. Except the two "Comm." tracks (the first demonstrating Michel'le's incredible vocal abilities), there are no filler tracks, each song is very well produced, flows incredibly and is designed to show off The D.O.C.'s amazing talent. I first heard this album at uni in about 1999 - i was chilling out in my mates room when i heard the intro to 'Super Bowl Sundae' start playing. I was listening to this and just relaxing and then, BANG, the track transforms into the jazziest, funkiest slab of hip-hop you'll ever hear. I instantly fell in love with that song and, after a further 20 minutes, pretty much the entire album!
This truly is an incredible collection of tracks - there's not a bad song on there and, if you haven't got this album, you need it. If you have got it, buy it again - it's THAT good!

Snoop Doggy Dogg. What can you say about the man? He came onto the scene in 1993, making guest appearences on Dr Dre's album "The Chronic". Then he dropped his first album, "Doggystyle", which was undoubtedly a Hip-Hop classic. But then Deathrow started to fall apart, and Snoop Dogg fell apart with them. After releasing 3 weak albums, tha fans were promised Snoop Dogg would be back to his best. But in all honesty, he is far from it. This could have been a classic album, but tracks like "Fathers Day" feat Xzibit were left out and replaced by poor songs like "Stacy Adams" and "I Can't Swim". This is by no means a COMPLETE failure though. Because "Bring It On" and "Wrong Idea" are first ... Read More:
