I'm not the World's best driver - quite the opposite in fact so I was glad when this product popped through my letter box as I'd hoped for a much needed refresher in the finer points of keeping myself alive on the roads.
I wasn't disappointed. This item is especially useful for the theory and hazard perception parts of the test - the point and click where the hazard is section is particularly useful I found - and works much better than the actual test software itself at the testing centre! The question banks for the theory test are thorough and highly realistic too - and very varied. Fallout is not perfect, what is, but it's definitely in the top three role playing games of all time. Personally I, and many others, would put it in the top slot. What makes it so good is that it can be played in many different ways with many different type of characters. You can decide what kind of role you wish to play, and the game will not force you to solve every problem by killing things regardless. (which the majority of RPG's do) The world is well fleshed out and internally consistent which gives an incredible atmosphere. With many different ways to play and choices to make it's a very replayable game.

I was fortunate enough to be lent this DVD and in conjunction with the Theory CD passed my theory test first time around. That said, I am learning to ride a motorcycle as an experienced driver. The DVD progressively explains Hazards with a gradual emphasis on differentiating static hazards from Developing ones (ie ones which absolutely force a driver/rider to change speed or direction). This much is fairly obvious. I think to fully grasp the material it is worthwhile viewing 3 or 4 times to pick up on the subtleties and in spite of the narrators explaining that there is no benefit in resitting the example tests, I think it all reinforces the learning process so I would disagree.

I bought this game some time ago and I'm far from tired of it so it's been well worth the money.
You can sculpt your own region with mountains, lakes, rivers and rolling hills. Large bodies of water attract whales which was a wonderful surprise! Onto this you can scatter forests and herds of animals. Make a mountain lake and scatter trees and wild animals around. Now zoom in and you see eagles flying over the lake - it's truly stunning! Making a complex region can take time and it can be frustrating but take time to look at the Maxis site and check out some of the recommended fan sites. Hubby bought a PS3 a few weeks ago along with the usual warfare games which being female are not for me. Got the free trial download for Prostreet Need for Speed and I decided to have a go and enjoyed it so much we bought the game. Now I am completely hooked. I just love the challenges, trying to win the races, trying not to damage the car. I really feel my adrenalin going and my heart racing.
We also bough Gran Turismo but I cannot get into that yet and find it quite boring. I need my life back though as I cannot tear myself away from the PS3 and Need for Speed. Next thing is a wheel as the PS3 controls are quite difficult. Problem with a wheel though is you need a stand? >>More Details |

A very good program, which I love using - but there are issues.
Minor fault Some of the lower ranked 'opponants' on the program make some very strange moves - for example, sacrificing the Queen for no reason at all - when they are winning. This turns the game around immediately. Major fault ...... The program sometimes calls a stalemate - (thus ending the game) when it is clearly not a stalemate. Quite often, this happens just as I'm about to call an extremely obvious checkmate. Having said that, I would still recommend this program. >>More Details |

I bought this latest book to prepare my theory test, I studied the Highway Code first and then I did all the practices on the book. And I had full marks on my theory test, thanks to this book. The content is brilliant, however, I think the design is so so, they could do better.
If you want to pass your test, buy this book and of course you have to study hard, then you should have no problem at all. >>More Details |
