Within minutes of completing the acoustic optimisation procedure after installation you will be surprised at how quickly and naturally you can speak and how accurate the voice recognition is. For me, it was about 98% accurate and much faster than typing.
Unfortunately, this was spoiled by a headset that pinches, even after being adjusted for size, and leaves you with a headache within fifteen minutes. This seemed more like a poorly designed product than a manufacturing error. The manual also states that the headset can be worn either way round. Although I did have some minor problems installing this product with a little bit of research I managed to resolve it.
This programme is highly capable and highly useful. It might take a little bit of getting used to as in the way you talk to it and it needing a limited amount of training. But the end result is surprisingly accurate. I am very impressed. The biggest problem that I have is remembering to use the software as I tend to automatically go to the keyboard to type. The other great aspect of this software is that you can use it anywhere that you would normally type. I began using Dragon 9.5 due to a worsening wrist problem aggravated by typing. From the first, I found the experience generally frustrating due to the number of mistakes made in nearly every sentence, which slowed my work down considerably. After approximately a year, version 9.5 became corrupt, and while I was loathe to spend any more money on what I considered to be an essentially faulty product, I reluctantly upgraded to version 10, which I have just installed today. (Note: I am not using Windows Vista, but generally, I had no problems with the installation).

I bought this thinking it was a cheap alternative to Adobe, but to be honest, its still pretty expensive compared to some other stuff on the market (which had I known about I might have chosen over this!) - but it does what it says ok! Check you need all the utlilities it provide before shelling out as you can probably find something cheaper to do the majority!
