Once you get the hang of it, it is nearly enjoyable. You can erase your horlicks without apparent damage. The best aspect is a live, courteous and helpful telephone back-up team who answer my problems and even advise me of what I will do wrong next. Worth any amount of money!

Whilst the interface is quite intuitive and easy to use, I was most disappointed with the inability to import or export data.
You can export items to a spreadsheet, however the inability to import data in CSV, QIF or other formats makes me wish I had kept my £20 and just carried on using a Spreadsheet or Access. Be aware the website is now Accountz (with a Z - version 6) this is version 5...

I have used Quicken in various versions for the past ten years, right from Windows 95. I have never had any serious problems with it apart from downloading from bank accounts. With Vista it took a while to understand how to run it in a compatibility mode that suited it, but it is still going strong. I am not sure why people had trouble with stocks and shares. I ran many stocks with it through the years I was investing and it downloaded latest prices. My only big beef is that it is no longer supported so I cannot have upgrades.
I am self employed so the program is a vital tool in my work.

You get what it says on the packet. This programme offers you only the very basic tools for home finance. Everything goes automatically and this severely restricts its usefulness. There are very few functions you can change or influence and this means that you cannot adapt the programme to your own needs. For instance, there is no cut and paste function so you have to re-enter your expenses if you want to use the same data in different spreadsheets. The programme automatically saves the spreadsheets and making back-ups or duplicating or renaming files is not possible. The averages per month for the different categories (you can add new ones to the list provided) of expenses and receipts are calculated automatically but you cannot select ... Read More:

I have been using Money in its various versions for around 10 years. I upgraded to this version when it first appeared and am still very happy with it.
As a general rule, you get out of MS Money what you are prepared to put into it. So, populating the database with all your financial affairs is going to take a little bit of time. However, providing you back-up regularly (and I back up every time I use it!)you'll only have to do it once.
It is now plugged in to all my online banking, has had plenty of time to adjust to my spending patterns in terms of budgeting and has become an utterly indispensible financial tool.
I have been using Money 2001 since it came out and have been very satisfied with it ever since. I've given it 4 stars as it can be a bit cumbersome to begin with but perhaps that is due to my complicated finances! It is very easy to use and it actually becomes quite addictive at the end of the day or week to see exactly where you stand and how your investments or debt are improving (hopefully!) Recommended if you want to get on top of your finances but you do need to work at it and be organised with input of data for it to work properly!

If you don't have alot of time to sit around figuring this software out - then I wouldn't buy it. My main attraction to buying it was that it showed you reports tracking your spending etc. I see it as a "it gets better as you use it" sort of thing.
You need to know basics of accounting, but if you don't it does have tutorials to help you figure things out.
I do think it is a good product, but it's not made for someone that wants an easy to understand user friendly interface.

Works Suite 2003 DVD has almost everything a home computer user would want. For the six applications included the price is great. I have used the application to update my version of Word, but at the same time to add some useful software. WORD - This has been updated and compared to the 2000 version is now easier to use with the general templates listed on the start-up page and includes the 2 most recent used specific templates. It also has direct links to the Microsoft website for further templates. ENCARTA - It's a long time since I've used it, but as I remembered it’s good. It now has a live update facility, great for keeping it up to date. It has a simple search menu and an alphabetical contents list, both are quick and easy. The content ... Read More:

I picked up the wrong box at the local outlet store (Evaluation version rather than Full, and nothing on the box to explicitly tell you this!) Am glad I did now, I have saved wasting the total 60 quid.
I have used Quicken for 11 years now, and I can safely say this is the worst release ever! Graph functionality has been removed, the interface is counter-intuitive and clumsy, and "online banking interface" means diddly-squat!
