This is probably the best all-round security package on the market and at this price is a must-have. Viruses, Spyware, Malware etc. infections should not be underestimated. No computer should be without security software and one product might not be enough! I would suggest a product like this plus Windows Defender(free) and Ad-Ware(free version) installed BEFORE you have an infection with regular checks because the chances are your computer is already infected which might explain the 'blue screens'! When it comes to PC 'infections' prevention really is better than cure.

Overall, this is a good product. It offers a comprehensive security suite, is fairly easy to install and quite an intuitive package. This is, supposedly, one of the most secure packages around with good virus detection performance according to tests. It's not too much of a system resource hog either, although I knocked off one star as tings do slow down when it does a background scan. But overall, a good one-stop complete security solution.

I'm running a Vista system and am trying to use Acronis for backups.
The user interface is confusing but once you get the hang of what it is trying to do then it is usable. It has the nice idea of specified backup locations, these have quotas such as size and number of backups etc. The problem is that it doesn't work properly. It usually hangs when it tries to delete old backups, so fails to keep to the quotas.
Setting up a small backup of 3 directories every hour resulted in the disks hammering continually and my process tables full of Acronis processes, seemingly doing nothing. I am currently running a backup that has been stuck at "18 seconds remaining" for half an hour now. I have no idea what it thinks ... Read More:

I don't rate Norton at all anymore, it's insidious, gets into every part of your machine and an absolute monster when trying to remove it from your system. Not recommended, does what its supposed to but not user friendly and a down right nuisance at times, steer clear, and try Kaspersky, so far it's a dream in comparison.

this windows virus/forewall protector is ok. It;s not in the league as other well known ones which perform to higher standard and have less problems. This can emss up your pc and make everything run pretty slow, but it does the job I guess, but wouldnt be in my top list of similar products.

It made my computer really slow and i had to reboot it. I havnt a clue why this happend but i wont risk installing it again. 30 quid thrown in the bin. i'd rather have a virus ridden com than have this antivirus running on it!

The product is an absolute joke. And the Technical Support / Customer Service at Symantec is even worse.
1.) Upon Starting the PC I am greeted with multiple pop-ups - Virus Definitions Out of Date and Virus Scan Out of Date etc etc. On entering the software everything is ok.....
2.) The system seems to hang on the "one button check up" during the Norton Cleanup scan and then after 30 minutes will find files to clean up. Example found 763 then cleaned. Immediately ran again and found 1091, then cleaned (again). Immediately ran again and found 2111.
3.) Have used Symantec Chat on 4 occasions and each time they tell me that it is sorted. When I start the computer again, the problems start again.
