rave reviews, looks good and seems to have the speed issue sorted, or so you think, fooled again! All seemed well then noticed a sudden slow down, oh dear oh dear, a scan with the lowly rated windows live onecare revealed 4 virusus plus other issues, alittle surprised to say the least, now trying Bit defender, pah web pages load quicker, don#t waste your time and don't trust the hype, try Kaspersky. Bit Def or Trend, nuff said

Having used Norton with no problems for the first 3 years with this computer, I was quite happy to stay with Norton and installed Norton Internet Security 2009 1-3 users upgrade. Easy to install, and also installed on the laptop which my daughter uses.
Unfortunately after 1 month it stopped updating on both computers, leaving them (and me) at risk. Norton were very helpful and remotely reinstalled the product. But the same thing happened again. Having spent a great deal of time trying to solve this problem I decided to cut my losses and try another product - with no problems. This is my second year of mcafee security and it does not let down. The interface is fantastically easy to use, and stays firmly in the background, only letting you know its there if it brings something to your attention. I like this as with Norton, I couldn't stand the annoying updates windows!! It is easy to request a quick scan, or even a deep clean of your computer and registry. Other feature I found useful was the tabs to overpower windows defence systems and use the much more useful Mcafee software. It also lets you help set up a network, and keeps this protected, ideal for more than one pc in the house. It even gives 3 pc's protection for the year. Well.. I had been warned by a friend that this internet security package would make my internet connection even slower than other internet security packages. I have previously used Norton and although it has made the internet a little slower it was never as slow as it is now. It takes approximately 10 minutes (15minutes today) to just get onto the internet, through google. This is really annoying and I very much regret buying Norton this time around. I have adjusted the settings, but it has made little difference. I use wireless broadband, but when I'm logging into the internet, it reminds me of dial-up, admittedly once I'm logged in and on the internet it is alright, but I certainly would not recommend this product to anyone.

I've used MCAfee internet suites before and I can honestly say that I will never again. When installed they do not do a good enough job in my opinion. I use Windows Live onecare and PC Tools spyware doctor and this combination has been second to none.

Oh dear. I was hopeful about this software - McAfee have a big name in the industry. But it seems to have failed.
I installed the product - it took 3 attempts and eventually it worked, and on the desktop was a big shiny M. It all worked absolutely fine, except that you could not open the Backup & Restore section, nor the Firewall Lockdown section. But, not to worry, because everything else worked. Then I switched it on the next day, and the first thing we noticed - it took 3 attempts to open it. Then there was a big red X saying that my computer wasn't protected.
