I bought this software from Amazon after purchasing my high definition Canon camcorder (also from Amazon). I had recently had a new computer built (and my old one upgraded). As an absolute beginner I read through dozens of posts on various video editing forums and decided to follow the recommendations of experienced video editors, such as having a huge second hard drive fitted so as not to save video files on the same drive as the operating system. Video editing is incredibly resource hungry, not being a techie but having experienced my previous computers slowing down (and crashing) over time because of all the rubbish that had accumulated on them, I also decided NOT to fill the computer up with my video games and downloads, I kept them for ... If you plan to purchased Studio on the promise of being able to handle AVCHD then beware of the instability of this product. Pinnacle have a lot of work to do to remove the bugs to make this product viable for HD editing. I have not tried editing SD sources so I cannot comment on their stability within this package.

This software is incapable of importing files correctly created in Canon camcorders which work OK with Premiere Elements. It imports 16-9 aspect ratio files as 4-3. The best the help desk can do is suggest using a shareware programme to rset the 16-9 flag. It made no difference. Just have a look in the help FAQ and look at the phaff involve in getting a clean install!!!!! I am a retired IT professional and rate this software and Roxio help as totally incapable. I wish I had read the reviews before buying. The software has been un-installed and sent back for a refund as unfit for purpose. If I had been using a micky mouse camera there may be an excuse but to say that files ceated by a market leader are the problem is rubish. Given one star because ... Read More:

This is my first time with any camcorder software. This software is fairly easy to use.
I have a HG10 Camcorder which uses AVCHD format, this can take hours to process onto a DVD. The DVD version is not as good as the original version.
There is a Corel Technical Web site for problems and also a forum which deals with problems & other queries etc.
It is easy to insert the video clips onto the programme, then they may require editing, labeling the clips as well as adding music and or voice for the final version. There are other features such as gamma, brightness etc. together with filters for sound/music
I edited about 60 clips, which lasted about 80 minutes, added titles and some music, these were ... Read More:

So this product is now Vista compatible, great right? No. At the cost of being Vista compatible out of the box, it now only supports Pal 50Hz. This means most new games will not be able to record onto the PC. I am not sure who does the design and who does the marketing at Pinnacle but I think it is appalling that they are not a product that suits at least 20% of people who used the old product. I would rather have a product which works right with a few patches than a product that only works with some things with no patches.
If you plan on recording games, DO NOT BUY THIS.

Elements 6 is great, it is friendly stable and productive. I have to say that it doesnt seem to offer that much more than 5 though.
However, as a bundle this is really poor. Premiere 4 is VERY unstable and slooooow even on high spec machines. Avoid the bundle and but Elements on its own or even gor for Elements 5 which might be cheaper but isnt Vista compatible.

I bought Guitar Pro 5 to supliment an old music writing programme that only wrote in standard notation - the aim being to convert then print music in TAB notation. However, I have discovered that Guitar Pro does more that that! Perhaps the most useful feature is its ability to download from other web sites arrangements of songs that have already been transcribed in Guitar Pro format. Not only can you download, modify if required, and print off these arrangements, but they can also be played on your computer. This allows you to fade whichever instrument you play and then jam along with your computer while reading the TAB that advances with the song.
Overall, a practical and easy to use piece of software for the guitarist who will never need to buy a TAB music ... Read More:

One of the better software packages of this type. I found the music editor (for getting rid of major "clicks") excellent, although you're better of using a graphics tablet and pen for greater accuracy.
Gets rid of most the basic vinyl faults easily and quickly, to leave a good recording to burn on cd.
I found one good example of this software in work on YouTube, well worth tracking down.
On the downside, AC Lab (when I put a split mp3 track) annoyingly did not load the second part, but other software does, also refused to load mp2 tracks, again other software does...
The manual still leaves a lot to be desired, and as some of the help screen has some of the index titles and the actual screen dumps in German a certain sloppiness is involved.
