I've been playing music now for many years using keyboards and synths, but I always disliked the idea of learning music theory. I felt it was always better to learn through experimentation and practise rather than by rote from a book. Perhaps it was the memory of all those stuffy, slightly abstract music lessons I took in school that put me off music theory. It seemed that music theory had nothing to do with real music as it is played.
However, as time went on I wanted to go back and fill in the blanks. My philosophy on writing music is like learning to speak: you learn through listening to others and expressing yourself in your own way, then after a time you learn the alphabet and begin writing formally. So I decided to learn ... Read More:

I bought this as I had tried to teach myself previously through books without any success. This program blew me away and within weeks I was playing tunes with chords which had before seemed as if it wasn't achievable without a real teacher. This program shows you which keys to play, adds band instruments in such as Acc and Drums and even tells you when you are going wrong once connected with a MIDI Cable. This software is amazing and I will certainly be buying Keyboard Coach 2 to develop my skills further.

I have tried installing this on both a pc and a laptop, and in both cases there has been a fatal installation error saying something about microsoft data access components 2.5. The bits that do install are fine, but the interactive bits which were the reason I bought it do not work. Have tried finding a way round the mdac problem but all the advice I could find didn't help.

I thought that this CD would be hard work and a little boring, but at least I would stand a better chance of passing my test. How wrong could i have been...i actually found myself on this CD for over 3 hours and I didn't feel like i was revising for anything! A few days later I resat my practise theory test and passed to my amazement :0)
I would really recommend this CD to anyone who is having problems with road signs. The real life pictures made it easier to, as you could see where you would find the sign on the roads, rather than ... Read More:
