rave reviews, looks good and seems to have the speed issue sorted, or so you think, fooled again! All seemed well then noticed a sudden slow down, oh dear oh dear, a scan with the lowly rated windows live onecare revealed 4 virusus plus other issues, alittle surprised to say the least, now trying Bit defender, pah web pages load quicker, don#t waste your time and don't trust the hype, try Kaspersky. Bit Def or Trend, nuff said

Having used Norton with no problems for the first 3 years with this computer, I was quite happy to stay with Norton and installed Norton Internet Security 2009 1-3 users upgrade. Easy to install, and also installed on the laptop which my daughter uses.
Unfortunately after 1 month it stopped updating on both computers, leaving them (and me) at risk. Norton were very helpful and remotely reinstalled the product. But the same thing happened again. Having spent a great deal of time trying to solve this problem I decided to cut my losses and try another product - with no problems.
Amazon were very, very helpful and refunded the purchase and postage on return of the product.

I've dabbled with NAV since the days of Windows 3.1. I've never liked it - always found that it slows down my PC, is resource-hungry and dreadfully annoying with nags and pop-ups. But this 2009 version is very different. Very light on its feet with a small footprint and no noticeable adverse impact on PC performance. It's too early to say how good it is at protecting users from viruses, spyware etc but at least it runs very smoothly and is inconspicuous in use. Very good indeed. Nice one, Norton!

Well.. I had been warned by a friend that this internet security package would make my internet connection even slower than other internet security packages. I have previously used Norton and although it has made the internet a little slower it was never as slow as it is now. It takes approximately 10 minutes (15minutes today) to just get onto the internet, through google. This is really annoying and I very much regret buying Norton this time around. I have adjusted the settings, but it has made little difference. I use wireless broadband, but when I'm logging into the internet, it reminds me of dial-up, admittedly once I'm logged in and on the internet it is alright, but I certainly would not recommend this product to anyone.

As an antivirus software package- Norton is capable of doing the job you paid for it. It is a system that will defend the computers in your home and it is possible not to pull your hair out whilst installing it as I have done with previous antivirus software packages. But alas my friends, this will probably be the last antivirus you will buy due to microsoft announcing the end of their One care antivirus system and giving it free in 2009.
The penny drops - why buy antivirus software if there is an adequate replacement available for free.
Microsoft do have a habit of stuffing things up and getting products late to market but it does beg the question - why buy a product which you could be getting for free....

Okay, i'm up to date with modern technology and a bit behind when it comes with virus protection, lets say not as experienced as some and probably one of the youngest to comment on a product. I currently am using Norton nternet Security and thought about buying this product. But one word of advice you should consider. At the start the sign up to "Norton" is free. For a whole year it will do its job successfully, it does benefit from a simple user interface and isn't doesn't regularly demand attention. Its good for that i sing its praise. But after one year of the product, exactly 365 days. The product basically turns off. Its still monitors the basics but no longer recieves updates, so the risk is the same as before. Then comes the constant pop-up ... Read More:

be careful. We installed this onto 5 systems. 4 in a mini network and 1 laptop. the laptop had a different configuration to the other 4 systems. All four systems had problems especially when we installed this onto the system acting as a server. ONce we did this we had drives failing, drive inaccessible, and systems grounding to a halt. the laptop which is a really simple set up failed immediately and when you used an external drive it threw up errors requesting a fdd drive.
We have returned to our old 2008 product and bingo its all back runnning fine. I'd avoid upgrading if I was you. I have no idea what is causing the problems but something is and it could be terminal for someone who uses lots of products on a system or uses ... Read More:

This product seems to have fundamental flaw in that like others I too have suddenly been victim to the defect that this product suddenly, without warning, decides your license has expired even though it has months and months left. When it works it works well but beware this piece of ???? It may suddenly refuse to work at all.
