Having used MS Money in the past, I was disappointed having downloaded the trial of the latest version, that it was not possible to buy it unless you were in the US. I thought I'd give Accountz a go as to be honest there don't appear to be many products on the market. It is however one of the worst software purchases I've ever had the misfortune to use. Completely illogical in how it works (particularly if you are used to MS Money) the user instructions are poor, it looks cheap and nasty and I will be reverting to a home made database instead

Once you get the hang of it, it is nearly enjoyable. You can erase your horlicks without apparent damage. The best aspect is a live, courteous and helpful telephone back-up team who answer my problems and even advise me of what I will do wrong next. Worth any amount of money!

Whilst the interface is quite intuitive and easy to use, I was most disappointed with the inability to import or export data.
You can export items to a spreadsheet, however the inability to import data in CSV, QIF or other formats makes me wish I had kept my £20 and just carried on using a Spreadsheet or Access. Be aware the website is now Accountz (with a Z - version 6) this is version 5...

Having purchased Personal Accountz in January this year for a small partnership business I'm in, I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity and speed of entry in Personal Accountz also the reports, brilliant! Although I've been using Sage Line 50 (on my accountants recommendation) for my retail business for the past year, I purchased Business Accountz in the hope that it would be more user friendly on the basis of P/A. I have now put my last year's accounts on and have to say Business Accountz has given me a system that's quick and easy to understand and is fun to work with. There is superb back up through their online forum and are introducing new developments on a regular basis. I'm looking at my accounts with a new interest and enthusiasm.Very well done Accountz. ... If you don't have alot of time to sit around figuring this software out - then I wouldn't buy it. My main attraction to buying it was that it showed you reports tracking your spending etc. I see it as a "it gets better as you use it" sort of thing.
You need to know basics of accounting, but if you don't it does have tutorials to help you figure things out.
I do think it is a good product, but it's not made for someone that wants an easy to understand user friendly interface.

I struggled at the beginning with this SW, but this was due to to faults of my own, I know nothing about accounting, and I made a couple of fundamental setup errors. The email support people responded in 7 hours, not bad, but a while considering the simplicity of my mistake.
OK so now I'm up and running. It seems very straight forward and easy to use even for someone who is a real novice at accounts.
The Manual is approx 200 pages and an easy read. The initial SW setup wizard is really useful for getting it installed.
The difficulties for me are: (1) The manual is a little weak for the accounts novice installing and setting up for the first time. (2) The SW benefits from a larger monitor, my 1024 x 768 is not really enough.
