Like some here I did have the keycode issue, though despite this I have given the program 5 stars for these reasons:
1) It works - when push comes to shove you can reliably restore your data or whole system
2) It's simple - the interface is easy and being able to schedule and automate backup is really important
3) It does more than backup - having used earlier versions the additional safe zone, clean up and secure destruction are welcome features
Above previous versions I also like that you can schedule (not new) but it will just complete the backup when the backup disk is attached, meaning you don't have to have your device powered all the time. It even does a 'role up' of the incremental backups to simplify ... Read More:

Well like so many, I bought it when it was on offer...
Installed and made my fist whole system back up. Lets face it, you never know if its done it right until you have to use it...fortunately it had as I reformatted my harddrive and reinstalled as hoped...
thats the good
the bad is since then I have not been able to create another wholesystem backup - well not one that I feel confident of...
and after 3 or 4 emails to their support - each time it has taken AT LEAST 1 week to reply and then displays a complete lack of understanding of the question
if you need to be sure that you have a good backup, shop elsewhere

Having read the other reviews here and elsewhere I gave it a whirl.
My purchase was due to having installed windows a fresh due to some dual boot issues and I simply could not be bothered doing it all again.
One 400GB hard drive to be divided, already running windows XP - Arconis installed quickly no problems, scanned the drives within 10 seconds, gave me automated options and upon chopping the disk into a 100gb system drive and a 300gb data drive I hit commit and it was done, reeboot required to complete the task and windows ran beautifully. Only critisism starts here. Once the major task was completed I could not get Arconis to go again without waiting 30 minutes for it to analyse the drives, but what the heck I'm happy and don't really need ... Read More:

I found the other review so unfair that I decided to write. I bought this CD from Amazon about a year ago. Since then I have never had any problems with it at all. This program is for XP and older versions of windows. It doesn't work for Vista.
Also this OEM version works perfectly for creating an image of your operating system but it doesn't backup or synchronize your personal documents. The full version of Acronis 9 does but the OEM doesn't.
The reason why it is called an image is because it is a single file with a .tib extension. The .tib file is about %40 the size of your original C drive and is an exact copy of C.
If you have you operating system on C and your personal files on D, and all you want is to create an ... Read More:

Over the years I have had 3 computers and experienced some nightmare experiences
when things went wrong and I then had to spend days reinstalling my software while knowing
that I had lost some information forever.
I decided to dual boot my new computer with Vista and Windows XP and realised I needed
to have a reliable backup system if things went wrong.
I installed Acronis True Image 10 on my Vista Hard Drive and printed out the True Image Manual
so I could always refer to it should my computer die on me.
This is essential unless you are blessed with a photographic memory.
I have also purchased a 1 TB external hard drive to keep my backups on.
Whenever I make any major changes to my software I just do a ... Read More:

I find many of my backup files both on internal disk drives and on external USB disk are unreadable. I started checking the images with Acronis' own "Check Image" feature and found most of them reporting "The image archive is corrupted". Unless you check every archive after creating it, you may find that backup is useless.
I now use Ghost 9.

Acronis True Image really has produced a top notch PC backup application here. I had no problems creating, managing and restoring complete images of my hard drive using an external USB device, with all the peace of mind that this affords.
One warning - several builds (or revisions) of True Image 9.0 have been released over time. The latest build is 3677. My retail copy of True Image 9.0, purchased from Amazon.co.uk only as recently as 12th November 2006, was quite an old build (2302) which probably also explains the cheaper price! When revisions of ATI come out you are advised to uninstall your existing version completely and replace it with the new. According to the official Acronis web forum, some users have experienced problems uninstalling True Image 9.0 ... Read More:
