This software is excellent. I have Windows Vista and this exciting software works just fine. I couldn't be happier with this product. Easy and intuitive and you can pick it up without a manual within minutes.
This is by far the best purchase I've made this year. Apart from the lengthy but not too complicated installation, this is a perfect piece of photo editing software for Digital Photographers and people of a creative nature. I use this program on my Macbook with not to much difficulty at all. It did use a lot of the resources on my laptop when I had a 1G memory but after I upgraded my memory (which was in my plans anyway) to 2G it worked even better. It does say in the box that for optimum use, it needs 1G of memory so don't try running anything else at the same time. I've used CS3 and there are probably 90% of the features on this program. Unless you are a serious professional (e.g. High end sports or nature photographer) then I really would advise you ... Read More:

Elements 6 is great, it is friendly stable and productive. I have to say that it doesnt seem to offer that much more than 5 though.
However, as a bundle this is really poor. Premiere 4 is VERY unstable and slooooow even on high spec machines. Avoid the bundle and but Elements on its own or even gor for Elements 5 which might be cheaper but isnt Vista compatible.

Photoshop CS3 is wonderful and a real joy to use. We were not naive enough to feel it could run on an older less powerful machine. We purchased a new PC especially to run Photoshop CS3, with a lot of memory and running XP Professional, and have hardly anything else running on this machine so that other software does not clutter things up etc.
CS3 loaded very easily. After installing the upgrades - 260MB - we started to use it for our day to day image processing. You download your images directly from your card into Bridge and then open them as RAW files. Camera RAW 4.1 is amazing and you will find your images benefit greatly from using this software. After this processing in Photoshop CS3 is smooth and very reliable.
I have used this for a couple of years now and rely on it for all my photo needs. It is truly a fantastic program. The cataloguing function enables you to find any photo within seconds. I have approx 16,000 photos in my computer and this program has them all tagged for instant retrieval. The editing functions enable you to do pretty much anything and would be all you could want unless you are a professional. Its worth getting a book to help with the more advanced functions if you want to experiment.

Do you have a uni undergraduate in your household. If so, get this : the mother of photo software.
If you are a student why not buy it now. You can use if after you graduate in your work. Many employers these days insist that people have proper licences for software.

I can't praise this product enough. If you are looking to create state of the art websites with CSS, etc. then Dreamweaver is the software to own. All the hard coding is done for you well you use the design view to add anything you desire.
I have a lot to do to my sites yet but I managed to create and publish my very first webpage within 2 days of uploading the software to my computer. It downloaded on Windows Vista Home Premium within 10 minutes with no problems at all.
Just a tip for beginners, check out YouTube for Dreamweaver CS3 Tutorials. You will learn all the basics there and it beats any manual or book.

I was surprised at the 3 start average rating for CS3 - however I note it had a lot of bugs.
I've been using it now for 2 weeks and as of July 2008 it does appear many of the bugs are now fixed. Photoshop itself has never crashed - though Bridge has crashed a couple of times - but that's still quite a rare event.
What made the upgrade worthwhile for me, an amateur photographer, are the new enhanced RAW image processing facilities, the big improvements to Bridge and the smart selection tool which makes selecting complex objects very easy.
Definately worth the upgrade if your a photographer.
