This program saved me from a strange error (an 'orphaned file') that no amount of tinkering with inbuilt utilities would fix, including command-line entries used as a 'single user'. I would otherwise have needed to do a lengthly reinstall, as it refused to boot at the time. Not only that, but it fixed numerous smaller errors, resulting in a faster and smoother disk to use. The program took some time to work it's magic, but it was certainly effective.

Like lots of other people here, I had a real problem with my Start up drive.
I don't do anything particularly crazy with my Mac, but the first symptom of trouble was that the virus checker stopped working, with Intego support's help I managed to get disk utility to fix the drive and all seemed well. However when I tried to upgrade to Leopard, all hell broke loose. The install wouldn't let me proceed without wiping the disk and when I bailed out my Mac kept cutting out at the startup screen. Luckily I had a bootable backup, but I was now in the position of having a DVD stuck in the drive and an unbootable internal HD. Disk Warrior 2 is the best investment in hard drive protection I have ever made. My OS X drive disappeared from the desktop and neither Norton's disk doctor or Disk first aid could bring it back. Disk Warrior was the last thing I tried and although it took several hours to achieve it's goal OS X is again fully functional. Disk Warrior is now run routinely on each of my hard drives. I have no hesitation in recommending this package and it is now the First utility I turn to and not the last. >>More Details |
