Paint Shop Pro came to my attention after receiving the latest version of TurboCAD v15 Pro which I use extensively for work purposes, the idea being to import drawings for production into finished presentable artwork. I decided to try the programme out first with Corel's free monthly trial and I'm glad I did - I found the programme to be annoying from the start. The first thing to happen was a long wait on start-up whilst it 'raided' all my photo files and converted them to run in PSP. OK, so perhaps that is to be expected. BUT-
I deal daily with customers who I visit and need to show them information from my laptop, including photos of equipment. Having waited for the computer to load up initially, on selection of a photo I them had to ... Read More:

i think this product is great yes it is slower loading in at the start but this is because it is a bigger program and to be exspected to sum it up i love it full marks

I know that nothing will persuade die-hard Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop supporters to abandon their favorite software, but when you see what you get for £100 with Corel X3, when compared to about £1000 for the Adobe equivalent, the case is made, at least for me. I have to spend my own money when I buy software software.
Having used earlier versions some years ago, I found X3 easy to use and very stable in Win XP. Newbies should expect a steep learning curve, but that is only to be expected with software of this power and capability. Perseverance pays off, and once the initial effort is made learning becomes faster and easier.
I frequently prepare detailed sketches and scale technical drawings, and I find the ability ... Read More:

As i saw in review from another coustomer (about the non-Ultimate version), the problems with Ulead Video Studio remains in the new version.
I HAVE VIDEO STUDIO 9 (German Edition).
I like it and i would like to buy the new version, because of the new possibilities, which i need.
BUT: I do not only have the same problem, which is not being able to finish the DVD, but i have the problem also also to "start" it.
When i try to import a DVD, i receive the message "Failed to read DVD information. Report ID: 0x80040901(2305).
I have 2 computers (WinXP Pro) and i installed/uninstalled them more than 20 times since July 2008 to resolve the problem in BOTH of them, but even if the program works fine for few days, then, suddenly the problem ... Read More:

I can't tell you how disappointed I have been with PSP X. I have used version 7 for several years with no problems at all, it has been reliable and powerfull enough for my requirements ( I am no artist ), it is the reason that I bought X.
My experience of PSP X is that is is slow, especialy with pathed vectored text, it crashes so often that I have gone back to 7, the interface is cluttered by comparason, less intuitive with more eye-candy styling and less usability.
The version I have may be X1, though it has patched itself with downloads from the Corel site.
Overall .. I will not be using this product again.

This is the worse piece of software i`ve ever encounted for use on vista !!! It crashes , freezes and locks up at the drop of a hat whilst trying to do the most basic of editing tasks like adjusting clip volume . I would not recommend this product to anyone , put your money into something that actually works from adobe.
Spend a bit more money if you must and buy X4 or even X3 - Corel do not support this application anymore and THAT is the reason it is cheaper.
I recently bought CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 from Amazon with a view to upgrading when more familiar with the software...but I can barely use it on my computer. Whenever I try to save or even open an existing document, the application recovery manager comes up and tells me the application has become unstable, its very annoying. There is nothing wrong with my pc, probably one of my applications is incompatible with Corel, however Corel offer no advice or guidence on this particular product as it is too old. Of course, not everyone has this problem running Corel, but if you do it is better to have support from Corel to solve ... Read More:

CorelDraw has always been a big player for vector graphics, and while all recent versions have included the photo editing program, the later has never been a serious player for professional use. Nothing has changed, X4 still is the one to beat for vector graphics and is OK for home photo editing but not professional. Therefore I would look on the price being for Draw and the photo editor as a freebie.
This type of package is not easy to use therefore it is certainly to Corel's credit that they have included a full manual, oh how I wish all software packages came with one.
I have dropped a star, not because the photo editor is not brilliant but because for non professional users, Coreldraw is major overkill and does not do anything a home or casual ... Read More:

If you would like to produce some exciting painted effects to your digital images, quickly and easily you will love the options from this software. Almost all traditional media types are available as a preset one click! They are also costomisable to extend the range plus all presets from PE 3 are included if you had any favourites there.
Once you click on a style, off it goes, mimicking real brushstrokes flowing with the subject matter to make a realistic look. It starts with big strokes getting smaller and more detailed. The good thing is you can stop the "painting" at any stage. This allows a loose abstract look all the way to fine details or anywhere inbetween. There is also a clone tool to bring back details selectively and boost details from the digital original. This side ... Read More:

I have been a long standing user of PSP but once Corel got thier hands on it it's all over.
PSP was a byword for effective, efficient and inexpensive photo editing software. Now it is none of these. Bloatware springs to mind and not cheap either. Do yourself a favour and find an old copy of PSP 7 it will do everything you ask and it will even run off your USB stick.
If you reaaly want to spend the cash, spend it on photoshop elements 6 or save your pennies for a few months and go for the full photoshop. Corel Photoshop is just waiting to drag your system down
