Sorry to be negative but just what has happened to Nero? I heartily endorse the poor reviews previously given.
To be perfectly honest, if all you want to do is rip CD's and make copies, then use Windows Media Player, or buy a OEM basic Nero 8 disc for about £1 from any computer shop. If you want to rip and copy DVD's then go to Download.Com and get DVD Shrink and CD BurnerXP for free! It's dead simple, gives you good copies, but minus all the flashing lights, whistles and bells that Nero want you to pay £30/£40 for.
In fact, there's not much software worth paying good money for these days, believe me.
I too have fallen victim to Nero 8, this product is very frustrating to install, even then you will get an error message telling you "Nero Home" has stopped working, I don't know how many times I have emailed them, their customer service is totally non-existent....stay away from this product!Software Nero 8 (german)

Im glad this seller no longer exists cos he sold me a fake product. I tried to get assistance from Nero and they said the serial was fake, so if this guy pops his ugly head up again, be warned !

Stay away from this software until Nero learn to treat their customers with courtesy and respect. Nero Vision hijacks many, many file associations and creates absolute havoc. They may think it's clever, but it's a real pain that can only be fixed by uninstalling. Look at the forums on this. Like many others, I have uninstalled Nero and will go to a supplier with integrity and manners.

OK - saviour is a strong word but I can honestly say itas made my life SO much easier! I bought this as an impulse buy at the same time I upgraded to Nero 9 from Nero 8...it made sense as I have always used Nero products and this seemed a great idea...from what I had read.
Having installed it - which I found perfectly straight forward - I started to play with it straight away. Wow! Why hasn't anyone thought of this before? It does exactly what it says on the box! You really can take your media files (photos, movies, videos etc) from your mobile, PSP or iPod and just transfer them to your other hardware. It's intuitive to use and even a non-techy like me got to grips with it very quickly. I am now busy transferring files at every opportunity ... Read More:

I recently received Nero 5.5 with a new CD writer. The writer is installed on the same cable as a dvd drive. When trying to make a copy from the dvd drive Nero is forever reading the CD in the DVD drive but never writing to the CD-R. Fortunately I also have a scsi CD as well and Nero works fine. Nero is OK when making a cd from files on the hard drive. I like the idea of burnproof writing, I have previously used the Adaptec software on an HP writer (different PC) and had to slow down the writing to get a successful CD.
