it took me a while to get all the cables i need for recording but when its all setup its a brilliant piece of kit highly recommended for gamers it does record in pal 50 but if you download amcap you can get it to record in pal 60 quality is also very good the software you get with it is rubbish for recording gaming would of preferd to get studio 11 or 12 but overall it is a good product xbox live gamers get it now! oh and 1 more thing dont waste your money on the platinum edition its not worth it this dazzle is just as good!! thanks! gt:chris 0wn3d u

Out of the box, and installed on a top spec computer running Vista, there were some immediate problems - clips were freezing and rendering was not working well. The advice from the handbook was to check for updated drivers for everything - including a search for patches on Pinnacle's website. This was done and multi-megabyte upgrades were downloaded. Windows update did not find any new drivers for the graphics card - but on Nvidia's website there was a new driver. Pinnacle posted a patch in October - some months after I had bought my copy - so it looks like gremlins had been reported - and fixed. Since then everything has worked perfectly - HD as well! Having taken a great deal of camcorder footage on a recent touring holiday in Canada, I turned to my long owned(but little used)Pinnacle Studio 9 editing package. After some initial difficulty,I eventually captured the project into the software. That's when the problems started!
It took many,many attempts to edit the first hour of video because of repeated hangups/crashes, which meant computer restarts each time. However,after sheer dogged determination, and taking each editing process very slowly, I achieved the desired edit and moved on to the movie capture stage to start the process of transfer to DVD. Vista is the current format and it does not work with this product- ended up buying Rescue Your Videotapes and it did work! - just hassle buying and changing a product. At least its sorted out and it would have saved me time if I had known from the start. Anyway just check your operating sytem before purchase.

I brought this product 4 weeks ago, its brilliant. l have been using it to Record TV and Camcorder footage to a hard drive. The wonderful thing about it is l can put recordings onto my newphews PSP and my ipod, and you dont have to be a clever clogs to do it. Actually, l must say, l am away quite often and have to do my bit to meet clients in the evening, so l take it with me and record TV programs from hotel television, straight to my hard drive and watch it when l get back in. THIS IS A MUST HAVE.

have installed this product om my laptop it seems to be fine, there is only to problems i have found so far and that is 1. it takes ages to render so i turned off render in background and it seems fine now.2 magic bullet doas not work it says i need to update graphics card have done this and still it will not work maybe i need a new graphice card?.
i have burnt a 15 min disc to see what it was like and it aint bad. anything you have purchased for pinnale 11 will import into 12 easy.now is it worth upgrading to 12 from 11 if your happy with 11 why upgrade ,but having been a fan of pinnalce since stuido 8 , 9 11.yes i did upgrade , will need to upgrade graphics card but might have a new pc built just for pinnalce. if i was to give a score out of ... I wasted a week of my life and then I returned it. Pinnacle support answered my emails efficiently but none of their suggestions worked. The picture rolled and shuddered in the preview window and was the same in the captured MPEG. Changing cables, capturing direct from camera or VHS, same result. Doesn't work. Amazon's return policy works a treat.

Everyone with a video capable iPod will know how frustrating it is that while it seems to be OK legally to rip a commercial CD into iTune for use on your iPod, that this is a no no for commercial DVDs. For this reason, this product will not rip commercial DVDs into mp4 format for the iPod, PSP etc. It does work with home recordings, but in truth even for this I found this software to be very slow, and quite often it would crash (a common problem with Pinnacle video related products). There are better shareware programmes out there which can be downloaded from the net (some of which will even rip commercial DVDs), which will do the same job much more quickly and with out the crashes. So really I could not recommend this product.

No problems here. When my wife got an iMac I tried using iMovie but soon reverted to Studio 11. Doesn't seem to work for some but I would recommend it 100%.
