You really have to consider two distinct groups or users when rating ACT!. It is easy and extremely intuitive to use and has all the typical features that one would expect from CRM software. It's ok - I needed it to open a clients file, so don't use it for day to day work..
For everyday small accounting use I think quick books would be a better choice (especially for those with no accountancy training) - but this does everything it promises and is now Vista compatible. Not a great step up from v12 and it still lacks decent network and other features. You always get the feeling that sage want you to buy the more expensive line 50 products - even when this will suit most small businesses. >>More Details |

It's ok - I needed it to open a clients file, so don't use it for day to day work..
For everyday small accounting use I think quick books would be a better choice (especially for those with no accountancy training) - but this does everything it promises and is now Vista compatible. I had 3 full days training on this software before doing my accounts for a business of £1M turn over I find it relatively easy to use because I have been shown correctly You can make corrections - you just need to know the correct way to go about it. I also think it is essential to have a thorough knowledge of whats going on in your business as this helps you see see if there are any obvious errors in the reports which you can produce. I find I can prepare debitor/creditor statements in seconds Send out letters to the same in seconds & have saved over £250 per month in accountancy fees worth using but get some training first (accountants didnt study for ...
