I just installed this on my desktop and laptop and not found it not too different to outlook 2003. Can't really see major changes but as all msn office product goes, it is still fairly easy to use.

PaperPort 11 is excellent as a filing system, but its indexing function is slow and frequently crashes. Instead, use Copernic Desktop Search 2 and fine tune it so that only PaperPort folders are indexed. This search engine is free for home users and produces almost instant results! Furthermore, its indexing proceeds rapidly when your computer is idle. Unlike PaperPort's primitive indexing, it only looks for new additions.
The combination of these two programmes produces the perfect answer for anyone who needs to quickly find data residing amongst thousands of scanned files, pfd files, word documents, etc.

I have been using Windows Vista Home Premium for nearly two years. Initially I used it on a "Windows Vista Capable" machine, and with all the UI effects turned on it ran like a dog. I remember the same thing in 2001 when I ran Windows XP on a 233 MHz machine with 64 MB RAM (the minimum spec for XP). I have since used Vista on my other two newer machines, each of which exceed the recommended spec, and I have been rewarded with new stability and security, along with an enhanced multimedia experience. Mac OS 10.5 has nothing on Vista (I use both at work), just don't try to run it on low-end hardware and expect miracles.
Media Center is a brilliant pack-in, get a remote and plug the PC into your TV and away you go. For gamers I would recommend ... Read More:

I bought a MacBook some months back for University/Music production, and got iLife to go with it. Whilst overall, their are a number of genuinely positive outlooks to be had, the bundle is not without it moral flaws.
Getting straight into the good points, their is one universal feature that is striking; all the programs are incredibly easy to use, and not hungry on your performance. GarageBand is a joy to use for playing my MIDI keyboard and recording demo's, whilst iPhoto is a rather near program for collating your albums. iWeb is simply fantastic as it's so easy to plan and design web-site with multiple hyperlinks, photo's, video's, and plenty of other features you normally take for granted, whilst iMovie is also excellent quality, in terms of its features. ... Have some people been using a different version of this software from me? (or trying to run it on OS9 maybe?)
It's not perfect (lack of VBA support, lack of advanced features in Excel, slow to start up, not fully compatible with spaces), but I think it's quite good and definitely worthy of four stars (I'm running the latest update 12.1.4 at the time of writing).
iWork '08 is not a good idea, as although Apple say it's compatible with the word and excel formats, it doesn't display the advanced formatting in these files properly. The only serious competition Office 2008 has is OpenOffice 3.0 (which now runs natively on the mac).

Money 2005 isn't sophisticated enough to deal with tax returns. For instance, it can't handle split capital allowance pools. Work arounds are possible but they defeat the purpose of having a set of "linked accounts". The program is also confusing to use. It really requires the purchase of a seperate "how to use guide" (I used Microsoft Money for Dummies 2005) to make it manageable.
It has taken me 3 or 4 times longer to complete my accounts this year using Money 2005. Needless to say I will not be using Money 2005 again.
Instead, I recommend Microsoft Accounting 2008 Express which is FREE. Unfortunately, this program also has a learning curve as its based on double entry book keeping. However, as its the standard book keeping method used by accountants, ... Read More:

Have just got this and WOW! Have used previous versions of the Virus Barrier but this time decided to get the security suite as it includes anti-spam and I have been getting increasing spam mail over the last few months. This adds a SPAM folder and puts suspect mail in here where you can just delete it or review. It also gives you the option to teach it spam or learn good email which means I rarely get a spam mail in my inbox now. Can't praise this enough and is really good value with Virus and Net barrier included.

I have always had a soft spot for Publisher and still use the 2003 version for my teaching and for producing teaching handouts. I haven't bought the 2007 version but have looked at it and it all seems very similar to what has gone before.
For the money, it looks very expensive these days and very poor when compared to products from Serif and the like. Also, remember the latest version of Word makes a good stab at being a half decent DTP application, at least for simple projects. Buying both really is bordering on duplication.
I think I would need a lot or persuading to part with £140 for something which is really a tarted up version of 2003. Most of the time I use a Mac and an application called Swift Publisher, which knocks the socks off Publisher and costs £25! ... Read More:
