Having used quickbooks for years - 2004 pro/2006 regular, I cannot believe how appalling this is. You cannot do accrual, the reconcile is under 'for your accountant' and you cannot enter supplier bills!!!! What??????!!!!!
Simple Start? Too right it's simple. A simple con so you have to upgrade to quickbooks pro. It will be going back and we will be changing to sage!
Take heed Intuit!

Everywhere I read so called `advanced users' saying `if it ain't broke, don't fix it', and complaining how traumatic it has been to upgrade from the oh so user friendly Office 2003 to this. Come on now. If you are really such an advanced user, spend an hour enjoying familiarising yourself with the new software rather than writing a review slating it. If you are a less advanced user then I take your point more seriously, but given time I'm sure you will find yourself benefiting hugely.
If you take a step back, you see how awful the interface for Office had become. It worked ok back in 1994 when there were fewer features, but just bunching the icons up at the top was completely inappropriate for an application of this size. When I speak ... Read More:

Mac users don't think about viruses and spam as often as they should, and this is so so easy to install and use even for people, like me, who aren't amazing with computers. Great for a Mac user to have peace of mind!

The many mixed reviews of this product may have confused potential buyers, so what I want to try and do with this review is put them in perspective so that you will have the necessary facts to buy (or not buy) with total confidence.
First of all, many of the negative reviews have come from people who either didn't know that they needed an Intel-based Mac or who had a very slow older system. You need an Intel Mac running at 2.0Ghz or above with 2Gb of RAM. Without this, the program will struggle.
Second, voice recognition is still in its infancy, because all such programs are incredibly processor intensive. What the software is trying to do is to interpret speech by making educated guess on what you're saying based on phonetics ... Read More:

Wow, this took so long to install I thought my PC had died! Once installed, the start up wizard was a great way to help novices like myself set up home/company details. There's also a Quick Start window which launches the most commonly-used tasks like invoicing, which saves having to scour the main interface. If you have other Microsoft products (I have Word 2007), you'll like how well they work together.
So far I have only printed out (with ease), several invoices for a freelance journalist friend. But I plan to use this to manage my household and eBay accounts and will update this review when I have had more time to explore all the features.
But I already like it. It has a familiar feel even though I've never used it before. And while ... Read More:

Okay, i'm up to date with modern technology and a bit behind when it comes with virus protection, lets say not as experienced as some and probably one of the youngest to comment on a product. I currently am using Norton nternet Security and thought about buying this product. But one word of advice you should consider. At the start the sign up to "Norton" is free. For a whole year it will do its job successfully, it does benefit from a simple user interface and isn't doesn't regularly demand attention. Its good for that i sing its praise. But after one year of the product, exactly 365 days. The product basically turns off. Its still monitors the basics but no longer recieves updates, so the risk is the same as before. Then comes the constant pop-up asking for a re-subscription to ... Read More:

Once you get the hang of it, it is nearly enjoyable. You can erase your horlicks without apparent damage. The best aspect is a live, courteous and helpful telephone back-up team who answer my problems and even advise me of what I will do wrong next. Worth any amount of money!
