I used Version 8 on Windows 95 to teach myself to type in the late 90s.
Then I thought it was great. It was a big help.
This version I expected to be more polished. Perhaps more scientific in it's approach; though really it hasn't changed much. Still good.
Purchased for my neice, installation hung on her XP machine during install/registration. Ctrl+Alt+Delete showed registration and installation to behave as two seperate applications. Killed registration and the installation proceeded.
The first thing I noticed was that the interface didn't scale well to a widescreen resolution of 1680 x 1050 some jumbled text in the options dialogue.
We bought this for our 5 year old daughter who absolutely loves it. There is a lot to do, easy to follow instructions, fun learning, great games and much more. In fact she is now 6 and still plays and we are about to buy her the Year 2 CD. Highly recommended

I was looking for the most up to date driving test practice media i could find and this seemed to be the newest on the market. I have previously been using the driving test success 2006/2007 on my PC and was well impressed but had wanted something more upto date. As i looked at the product I saw the system requirements were windows 2000, vista and XP so immediately thought these were for use on the PC....
Be warned these discs are NOT for use on your PC they are for use on DVD player or console!!!
Very slow compared the the Cd rom. This would be great for anyone who doesn't own a PC but not for anyone who has experienced the CD rom version.

It's always sound commercial sense to shoot yourself in the foot by alientaing your core customers. I'm a self confessed early adopter, so I knew this would be a challenge but after many months I've given up and moved to Open Office!

The graphics are good, the concept is good but the control method on PC is dreadful, for some reason Harry is onscreen anywhere apart from where you want him and he can be facing any direction so when you press the control keys you get unexpected movements, I wish they had made it classic 3rd person control so he is always facing forward, at least that way when you press the forward key he would go forward, add to that the fact that Ron and Hermione are with him 90% of the time and keep getting in the way which makes this game really frustrating. It is good that you can explore Hogwarts as much as you want but it would be better if you could use the map to jump to locations instead of having to run everywhere with the awful control system, you seem to have to cover a ...
