After years of my grumbling about Microsoft Windows operating systems, the hand of fate intervened and my laptop's hard drive and motherboard simultaneously failed, giving me the perfect excuse to go out and buy a new Apple iMac, a machine that can run Mac OS X 10.5 and Windows alongside each other, very useful to avoid wasting my investment in Windows software over the years. Not wishing to install Vista, I instead chose to purchase the Windows XP OEM Home Edition SP3 from Amazon for a very reasonable £65.17, which arrived within 2 days with the usual Amazon efficiency.
Using the Mac OS X Boot Camp application to install my new software, I was up and running in Windows XP in less than 30 minutes, connected wirelessly to my Netgear ... Read More:

Having used Norton with no problems for the first 3 years with this computer, I was quite happy to stay with Norton and installed Norton Internet Security 2009 1-3 users upgrade. Easy to install, and also installed on the laptop which my daughter uses.
Unfortunately after 1 month it stopped updating on both computers, leaving them (and me) at risk. Norton were very helpful and remotely reinstalled the product. But the same thing happened again. Having spent a great deal of time trying to solve this problem I decided to cut my losses and try another product - with no problems.
Amazon were very, very helpful and refunded the purchase and postage on return of the product.

Sorry to be negative but just what has happened to Nero? I heartily endorse the poor reviews previously given.
To be perfectly honest, if all you want to do is rip CD's and make copies, then use Windows Media Player, or buy a OEM basic Nero 8 disc for about £1 from any computer shop. If you want to rip and copy DVD's then go to Download.Com and get DVD Shrink and CD BurnerXP for free! It's dead simple, gives you good copies, but minus all the flashing lights, whistles and bells that Nero want you to pay £30/£40 for.
In fact, there's not much software worth paying good money for these days, believe me.
This is a first rate package for developing photoshows and doing other things - it is intuitive and therefore easy to use and the consequent results are really professional. The only negative is that initially it takes an age to load on to your PC but given that you only do this once it's hardly worth griping about. Highly recommended (the Ultimate version has enhanced capability around HD etc.)

Within minutes of completing the acoustic optimisation procedure after installation you will be surprised at how quickly and naturally you can speak and how accurate the voice recognition is. For me, it was about 98% accurate and much faster than typing.
Unfortunately, this was spoiled by a headset that pinches, even after being adjusted for size, and leaves you with a headache within fifteen minutes. This seemed more like a poorly designed product than a manufacturing error. The manual also states that the headset can be worn either way round. However, the earpiece is obviously designed to be worn over the left ear and is much less comfortable over the right. This is inconvenient if your computer is on your right. I don't know whether all the Standard ... Read More:

Fallout is not perfect, what is, but it's definitely in the top three role playing games of all time. Personally I, and many others, would put it in the top slot. What makes it so good is that it can be played in many different ways with many different type of characters. You can decide what kind of role you wish to play, and the game will not force you to solve every problem by killing things regardless. (which the majority of RPG's do) The world is well fleshed out and internally consistent which gives an incredible atmosphere. With many different ways to play and choices to make it's a very replayable game.
It can take a bit of acclimatising to, as it's not just an ego massager like many modern games, so stick with it for a bit because the game you'll experience ... Read More:

Paint Shop Pro came to my attention after receiving the latest version of TurboCAD v15 Pro which I use extensively for work purposes, the idea being to import drawings for production into finished presentable artwork. I decided to try the programme out first with Corel's free monthly trial and I'm glad I did - I found the programme to be annoying from the start. The first thing to happen was a long wait on start-up whilst it 'raided' all my photo files and converted them to run in PSP. OK, so perhaps that is to be expected. BUT-
I deal daily with customers who I visit and need to show them information from my laptop, including photos of equipment. Having waited for the computer to load up initially, on selection of a photo I them had to wait further for the PSP to load before showing ... Read More:

Bought this programm 2 weeks ago...At the beginning i had some doubts because of the negative reviews here. But then decided to try it by myself (and finally the price is pretty good).
So, here is my review:
(1) Connected the grabber it easily with my videorecorder. (2) Installed the included Movies on DVD 7 and !IMPORTANT! Downloaded and installed the latest driver from the Magix Homepage (product page) for the videograbber. (3) Finished!
As far as i can say it works perfectly. Haven't tried very long recordings yet but within 1 hour videos everything is absolute sync. There is definitely no gap between picture and sound.
My recommendation for all people with async sound --> get and install the latest driver from Magix!!! This should solve your problem ... Read More:
