bought this for my husband, proved to be an excellent tool to learn enough to pass the exam 93%. Some questions in exam not covered in content so common-sense still required. Don't bother with the hazards CD, better examples exist on the internet!

A few months ago I bought a new laptop which came with Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I've now had the opportunity to compare Vista to my desktop PC's XP installation. In summary Vista doesn't make a compelling upgrade. Memory usage is considerably higher, the default User Account Control setup is so overbearing that I disabled it completely and from the perspective of the end user the new features seem to be mostly related to visual tarting up and transparency effects. These new features add nothing much to productivity. The frequency and volume of critical security patches to apply seems to continue as with XP. There are some useful features but most of these can be added to XP by using existing free applications. Not a worthwhile upgrade.

This game is what is commonly referred to online as a "hidden object" game. In other words you have a list of objects that you must find to progress to the next level.
The game is made up of about 20 levels and is lots of fun. There is also a bonus game which is unlocked if you find 20 keys hidden throughout the game.
The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because, for me, it lacked plot and had few mini games, which are quite common with this type of game. The only mini game it did have was a matching pairs game (which alternates between match the pictures, match the colours, and match old to new).
If you are unsure whether you would like this kind of game you can legally download it and play it for free for 1 hour at Big ... Read More:

I used Version 8 on Windows 95 to teach myself to type in the late 90s.
Then I thought it was great. It was a big help.
This version I expected to be more polished. Perhaps more scientific in it's approach; though really it hasn't changed much. Still good.
Purchased for my neice, installation hung on her XP machine during install/registration. Ctrl+Alt+Delete showed registration and installation to behave as two seperate applications. Killed registration and the installation proceeded.
The first thing I noticed was that the interface didn't scale well to a widescreen resolution of 1680 x 1050 some jumbled text in the options dialogue.
i have the 2005 version and i agree with the london-heysham comment. i put in a route from the rotterdam ferry port to Kalmthout, ajourney of 62 miles, it routed via ferry to HULL then by road, 258 mile,to DOVER then a journy of 82 mile by road to Kalmthout, do the "dover ferry" guys pay back-handers to microsoft one wonders !!!!

The graphics are good, the concept is good but the control method on PC is dreadful, for some reason Harry is onscreen anywhere apart from where you want him and he can be facing any direction so when you press the control keys you get unexpected movements, I wish they had made it classic 3rd person control so he is always facing forward, at least that way when you press the forward key he would go forward, add to that the fact that Ron and Hermione are with him 90% of the time and keep getting in the way which makes this game really frustrating. It is good that you can explore Hogwarts as much as you want but it would be better if you could use the map to jump to locations instead of having to run everywhere with the awful control system, you seem to have to cover ... I used to use this, and was very pleased with it under XP, but I upgraded my computer, which included 64bit Vista. This programme will not run, and manufacturers i) agreed & ii) had no plan to remedy the problem. I bought a different make of product in the end. (Either that or stop my research).

Why oh why? Why does this particular version of Rome Total War have bugs? No other version i have tried has bugs that appear here. Just a few, here and there, on the battle map and the campaign map as well. Blank video clips, stuck mice and cameras. Really, ther is no need for this. The game is largely untouched and thank goodness for that but the bugs are not acceptable. As there are other versions of this game available withut bugs (such as eras), there is no reason to buy this bugged one. RTW rates 10/10 This version rates 8/10
