I am a semi-professional photographer and sell both prints and canvas images so I need my monitor to be accurate. I have been using a Huey for the last few years and though it has been adequate I did need to see if there was anything else on the market, which was better. I think I have found it!!
I have known about the Spyder 3 for some time and was pleased to receive one to review. It had had several differing reviews and I wanted to put it through its paces to see if I should change my monitor calibrator. PagePlus is a desktop publishing application that has been around in one form or another for almost 20 years. It is Serif's flagship product and has won a lot of awards, and rightly so. The latest version, X3, hides a lot of power, and sometimes it really does hide it because I couldn't find it amid the many menus, dialog boxes, toolbars, flyouts and studio tabs. It has to be said that if you are not used to the way that Serif layout their applications, it will take many hours or even days of learning to bring you fully up to speed. Had great difficulty loading this program and had to remove 2 updates to windows XP and revert to Adobe 8 before it would load. Works OK then albeit a bit clunky. Reloaded newer versions of Adobe etc and it still works.

Well, the idea was good. But so many short cuts and poor choices have been made in the 'game's development that the product is next to unusable. Problems indluce-
* On slow machines, the game speed is locked to the framerate so the game slows down to a crawl. * The game auto-selects and in some cases, auto-changes gears for you. Thinking about gear changes is really important to learner drivers. * No pedal support. * If you make even a slight mistake in a practice session, it aborts and sends you back to the begining - extremely annoying and unhelpful. * you get a top down view of your car in a little window, so that you can 'cheat' any of the manouvers. Got this because I've had a lot of vinyl sitting in the loft for a few years.
Found this product very easy to use. was easy to set up, then easy to run through the vinyls onto the computer. I'm pretty computer savvy, so I also lent it to an older relative to try out, and they found it similarly easy to use - obviously this is fairly important, as it's probably a higher proportion of the older folk who would like to use this. all in all - excellent product, highly recommended. >>More Details |

Having used Final Cut Express 3.5 for a while now, and after editing numerous projects I welcomed version 4's release however I must admit to being rather disappointed. The new features seem next to non-existant and although Apple are really pushing the new version I would be tempted to go with version 3.5 as your paying a lot less and getting basically the same package. Parhaps when version 5 is released in the future it will be a bit more of a step forward as opposed to a step sideways.

I bought this DVD as my partner had a previous version last year, and he passed the test. So I bought this one again but with a latest version.
But I am not really happy with it, the picture is not clear at all, for example, I cannot see the car's breaking lights or indictor, so of course I cannot respond as quickly as I can. It was really depressing for me, and I thought it was my own problem.... Anyway, I don't like. >>More Details |

This is no Quicken. I have been using Quicken for a long time and had to change to this software when I upgraded my computer as Quicken is no longer available in the UK. This does not do half the things that Quicken can do, reconciliation is a pain, it can not categorise entries, it does not recognise payees, etc. I'm getting my friend to send me the latest version of Quicken from the states. Amazon please market Quicken in the UK for us!
