Being a creative (and gemini) type, I've accepted just about every type of college and university course going. Luckily I've settled down into Popular Music Studies, but I've needed various pieces of software for both work projects and uni documents. One of them was Photoshop; a program I was practically made to Marry for 2 years if I wanted to complete my Graphics Art course. It was CS2 I used back then on the iMac's, so naturally, I was worried if all my knowledge would be lost on the new CS4.
Thankfully, I was 'as usual' panicking over nothing (hereditary?). But their was a genuine reason for my concern. Like yourself, maybe, I had read endless reviews for CS4 before it was released, and gasped at the screenshots of a horrid ... Read More:

I bought this as I had read reviews saying it captured audio streaming of the web. But when you get it, this is almost impossible to install and looking at forums, loads of people are having problems with this. Customer support was near to useless as just kept sending automated emails.
Okay, it is a good burner, but don't buy it if you just wanted to capture streaming. I ended up spending another £25 downloading Audio Hi-Jack which worked fine.

We bought this for my daughters to use, and it does everything they need it to, and they find it easy to use. They have the same version at school and it is absolutely great for composing, arranging etc - they haven't yet had anything they needed to do and couldn't.

As soon as you put the disk into your PC this is a very simple application to use. The information screens are very clear and offer simple instructions on how to create your characters, locations and the basics of your story. This is a great application for writing short stories, if however you want to write a long novel try a different product. For me this is slightly lacking in that department, however for the price, it's a bargain that will actually help you and more importantly, your novel.

Garfield animated exercises catch attention of kids (my sister is 12 years old) and even I and my colleagues had fun to try it.
Contains exercises of single letters as for letter combinations and an error counting tool to follow your activity as for example editing a normal text document, so at next program launch you are suggested to practice one particular instead of others.

I bought this software despite the single adverse review held on Amazon. I thought it just can't be as bad as depicted. How right I was [bit unusual this !] I spent a couple of hours just trying things out to see what all the options do to a selected layout. I always think this is the best way to get to know a piece of software. Help files are perfectly adequate. My only 'beef' would be that you do need to try clicking on all the boxes and some of the option elements available are not clearly marked as offering selective options until you do so.
This is a competent piece of software. Like so many packages you are likely to use few of the options for your personal needs. How the previous revewer got into so much difficulty I don't know. ... Read More:

Having been a Flash user for years I was wanting some software that would make character animation faster and more intuitive, and allow me to export the results for use in Flash should I so wish.
Anime Studio 5 makes animating characters so much faster, it exports to SWF and these play fine in the Flash player.
Flash developers need to know this however - What I really wanted to do was import SWFs generated by Anime Studio into Flash to use in interactive work. My first attempt at import was not perfect. The import process was without errors, but the results viewed in Flash MX 2004 showed some objects with missing fills. (As with any SWF import into Flash tween data is missing and every frame is a keyframe.) It does generate ... Read More:

If you are using this in a full time business five days a week, it can pay for itself in very little time. For the casual user or people only using it occasionally I think its way too expensive. When I used Photoshop 3 many years ago it was also expensive, but at that time offered features that other programs could only dream about. Its layer editing was cutting edge stuff. Today even the cheapest of photo editors have these facilities and newer features added by CS3 are unlikely to be needed by most people. Successive upgrades from Adobe have been more about expensive tweaks to the program compared to the leaps between earlier versions. I find the raw file import still disappointing. I have used it for quick imports, but when compared to results obtained ... Read More:
