I have been working with this training CD for 3 weeks now and I just can't get the hang of typing properly. I think I've being doing it incorrectly for so long that there is no hope for me now. It's fun to use and quite clever - pity that I'm not!

Having read the other reviews here and elsewhere I gave it a whirl.
My purchase was due to having installed windows a fresh due to some dual boot issues and I simply could not be bothered doing it all again.
One 400GB hard drive to be divided, already running windows XP - Arconis installed quickly no problems, scanned the drives within 10 seconds, gave me automated options and upon chopping the disk into a 100gb system drive and a 300gb data drive I hit commit and it was done, reeboot required to complete the task and windows ran beautifully. Only critisism starts here. Once the major task was completed I could not get Arconis to go again without waiting 30 minutes for it to analyse the drives, but what the heck I'm happy and don't ... This is the second version of ABBYY software that I have purchased and it does exactly what it says on the box.
My day to day business requires me to handle a lot of paperwork and emails, prior to using this software this was the most time consuming part of my business and a complete nightmare.
This new version of the ABBYY product is excellent and I am glad to report that the team has improved the software beyond my expectations. I handle alot of contracts, invoices and reports and have found that ABBYY can handle all of them. This new version now handles each contract as a whole which saves me invaluable time when negotiating and proof reading. The conversion speed from PDF to Word, Excel etc. is faster than any other software ... Read More:

Microsoft word 2000 is the best version of word because it works on windows versions 95 to XP and is good for typing and spelling checks.
It is better than works because works does not offer a spelling check, does not have good clip art and word art is bad. So if you have not got Microsoft word or got an older version such as word 97 you should buy or upgrade today it is a good buy.

I had a previous version of Norton on the computer and followed the instructions with the product to delete this before installing Norton 360. After installation I had very slow computer operation and long switch-on time. I contacted Symantek by EMail and their response said I needed to download their special routine to delete a previous Norton version. This did not improve matters. Many EMails were exchanged and procedures followed until deleting Norton files in a Temp location eventually enabled the computer to run at normal speed, but still takes 5 minutes to switch on. The problem is with the Norton file ccSvcHst.exe which demanded 96% of CPU time on my computer until the Temp files were deleted. It is obvious that Symantex do not provide proper instructions ... Have some people been using a different version of this software from me? (or trying to run it on OS9 maybe?)
It's not perfect (lack of VBA support, lack of advanced features in Excel, slow to start up, not fully compatible with spaces), but I think it's quite good and definitely worthy of four stars (I'm running the latest update 12.1.4 at the time of writing).
iWork '08 is not a good idea, as although Apple say it's compatible with the word and excel formats, it doesn't display the advanced formatting in these files properly. The only serious competition Office 2008 has is OpenOffice 3.0 (which now runs natively on the mac).

I bought this as i thought it would protect my computers - it almost destroyed them! I put it on a XP and then on a Vista.
The XP one could not connect to the internet at all. It took me hours of frustration only to find the internet once i un-installed it.
The Vista one was even worse. Not only did i lose the internet i almost lost my computer! Luckily i had a restore disk and i did it to 3 days earlier - it took hours but thankfully Kaspersky was gone and everything worked again. Phew!
