I'm a computer engineer and most of the time quite sensible on the net avoiding dodgy places without the need of any antivirus. I originally bought panda anti-virus 3 years ago and have continued to upgrade ever since. It has a very simple interface and does exactly what it says on the tin! Protects against against all know AND UNKNOWN virus by watching for anything suspisious. It doesnt slow down your PC as much (cant be avoided) as Norton or McCafy either. I have multiple friends that have used other antivirus which have been "over protective" and just annoying, cant access web sites, cant download e-mails or use MSN file transfer. Panda watch's over your computer and stops virus before you get infected, although a weekly scan wont be of any harm, ... Read More:

This is the second version of ABBYY software that I have purchased and it does exactly what it says on the box.
My day to day business requires me to handle a lot of paperwork and emails, prior to using this software this was the most time consuming part of my business and a complete nightmare. This new version of the ABBYY product is excellent and I am glad to report that the team has improved the software beyond my expectations. I handle alot of contracts, invoices and reports and have found that ABBYY can handle all of them. This new version now handles each contract as a whole which saves me invaluable time when negotiating and proof reading. I do a lot of private research in many subject areas and this is the best product I have found for the price that allows you to collate information from many electronic sources.
In essence OneNote allows you to create a virtual filing cabinet with different draws into which you can place folders that have notes and sub-notes. The notes and sub-notes can contain virtually any data format including images, drawings, voice or text. During installation plug-ins are added to your Office products and Explorer enabling information to be imported to OneNote very easily and this makes research on the Web very efficient. Have some people been using a different version of this software from me? (or trying to run it on OS9 maybe?)
It's not perfect (lack of VBA support, lack of advanced features in Excel, slow to start up, not fully compatible with spaces), but I think it's quite good and definitely worthy of four stars (I'm running the latest update 12.1.4 at the time of writing). iWork '08 is not a good idea, as although Apple say it's compatible with the word and excel formats, it doesn't display the advanced formatting in these files properly. The only serious competition Office 2008 has is OpenOffice 3.0 (which now runs natively on the mac). >>More Details |
