I began using Dragon 9.5 due to a worsening wrist problem aggravated by typing. From the first, I found the experience generally frustrating due to the number of mistakes made in nearly every sentence, which slowed my work down considerably. After approximately a year, version 9.5 became corrupt, and while I was loathe to spend any more money on what I considered to be an essentially faulty product, I reluctantly upgraded to version 10, which I have just installed today. (Note: I am not using Windows Vista, but generally, I had no problems with the installation).

Everywhere I read so called `advanced users' saying `if it ain't broke, don't fix it', and complaining how traumatic it has been to upgrade from the oh so user friendly Office 2003 to this. Come on now. If you are really such an advanced user, spend an hour enjoying familiarising yourself with the new software rather than writing a review slating it. If you are a less advanced user then I take your point more seriously, but given time I'm sure you will find yourself benefiting hugely.
If you take a step back, you see how awful the interface for Office had become. It worked ok back in 1994 when there were fewer features, but just bunching the icons up at the top was completely inappropriate for an application of this size. When ... Read More: >>More Details |

Wow, this took so long to install I thought my PC had died! Once installed, the start up wizard was a great way to help novices like myself set up home/company details. There's also a Quick Start window which launches the most commonly-used tasks like invoicing, which saves having to scour the main interface. If you have other Microsoft products (I have Word 2007), you'll like how well they work together. So far I have only printed out (with ease), several invoices for a freelance journalist friend. But I plan to use this to manage my household and eBay accounts and will update this review when I have had more time to explore all the features. But I already like it. Okay, i'm up to date with modern technology and a bit behind when it comes with virus protection, lets say not as experienced as some and probably one of the youngest to comment on a product. I currently am using Norton nternet Security and thought about buying this product. But one word of advice you should consider. At the start the sign up to "Norton" is free. For a whole year it will do its job successfully, it does benefit from a simple user interface and isn't doesn't regularly demand attention. Its good for that i sing its praise. But after one year of the product, exactly 365 days. The product basically turns off. Its still monitors the basics but no longer recieves updates, so the risk is the same as before. I bought this course as once you have completed a level you get a certificate to prove your new skill. And I now have my foundation level certificate after a very short time. The ghost hands for placement is an excellent idea. For such a small price- potentially 3 certificates - can not be bad.

Once you get the hang of it, it is nearly enjoyable. You can erase your horlicks without apparent damage. The best aspect is a live, courteous and helpful telephone back-up team who answer my problems and even advise me of what I will do wrong next. Worth any amount of money!
