A few months ago I bought a new laptop which came with Vista Home Premium pre-installed. I've now had the opportunity to compare Vista to my desktop PC's XP installation. In summary Vista doesn't make a compelling upgrade. Memory usage is considerably higher, the default User Account Control setup is so overbearing that I disabled it completely and from the perspective of the end user the new features seem to be mostly related to visual tarting up and transparency effects. These new features add nothing much to productivity. The frequency and volume of critical security patches to apply seems to continue as with XP. There are some useful features but most of these can be added to XP by using existing free applications. Not a worthwhile upgrade.

I bought this product to convert my VHS tapes to DVD. The whole thing seemed straightforward and some of the reviews were positive - always what I want to hear. Turns out it wasn't so simple. I bought the Pinnacle and the cables recommened by Amazon. I loaded the software onto my 1-year old (very fast and capable) PC (with XP) and it simply froze before the end. Uninstalled and re-installed but it still didn't work. Turned off virus-checkers, firewalls, and everything else and tried again - no success. I tried it on my 2-year old laptop (also XP) and it finaly installed itself. I connected the device to my VCR and laptop - exactly as suggested and nothing worked. Having used MS Money in the past, I was disappointed having downloaded the trial of the latest version, that it was not possible to buy it unless you were in the US. I thought I'd give Accountz a go as to be honest there don't appear to be many products on the market. It is however one of the worst software purchases I've ever had the misfortune to use. Completely illogical in how it works (particularly if you are used to MS Money) the user instructions are poor, it looks cheap and nasty and I will be reverting to a home made database instead

You have to live with an encyclopaedia for a year or two to really get a feel for it's worth, and as Britannica's got 74,000+ articles even then you just scratch the surface. Encyclopaedias were always traditionally bought when older kids were in the household, and kids are frequently still the main users. - provided it gives them what they want, and quickly. Encarta 2009 hasn't got anything like the depth in articles that Encyclopaedia Britannica Ultimate reference suite 2009 has, but Encarta still hits the spot for school-kids with better use of interactive content and more focus on things they might actually want to read about. Plus Britannica still throws up strange search results more often than Encarta, which can be rather off-putting to youngsters with the attention ... Read More:

I bought this latest book to prepare my theory test, I studied the Highway Code first and then I did all the practices on the book. And I had full marks on my theory test, thanks to this book. The content is brilliant, however, I think the design is so so, they could do better.
If you want to pass your test, buy this book and of course you have to study hard, then you should have no problem at all. >>More Details |

I've used MCAfee internet suites before and I can honestly say that I will never again. When installed they do not do a good enough job in my opinion. I use Windows Live onecare and PC Tools spyware doctor and this combination has been second to none.

I've used an earlier 'Greetings Factory' programme for several years and found it was more than adequate in solving all my card requirements, whether it be greetings cards, business cards, postcards etc.
With Christmas coming up, decided to treat myself to an update, and am I really pleased that I did! Loads of new stuff and features, with the 'Seasons' clip art as a great bonus. And as always, Amazon's good pricing and free delivery. If you'd like to have a go at making your own personal cards (recipients love 'em!), then this is the programme to go for. Well.. I had been warned by a friend that this internet security package would make my internet connection even slower than other internet security packages. I have previously used Norton and although it has made the internet a little slower it was never as slow as it is now. It takes approximately 10 minutes (15minutes today) to just get onto the internet, through google. This is really annoying and I very much regret buying Norton this time around. I have adjusted the settings, but it has made little difference. I use wireless broadband, but when I'm logging into the internet, it reminds me of dial-up, admittedly once I'm logged in and on the internet it is alright, but I certainly would not recommend this product to anyone.

I'm not quite 17 yet, but I bought this disk a few months ago in the hope that it would help - and it has! It has made me confident for when I start to learn to drive and for my theory test... would recommend it for anyone learning to drive!

I'm impressed with this software package. The editing capability is straight-forward to use. The pre-sets that can be applied, are extremely useful and really spot on in my opinion. The menu layouts seem appropriate and logical; the learning curve to get into the software is around an hour I thought. Great value considering the benefits and the overall value of the package. Worth considering if it is on a short-list and cost is a factor, anyone making the purchase really will not be disappointed. Recommended.
