The answer to that question depends on whether you have programming experience. If you do, you'll probably find that the tutorials and help files included will give you a good grounding from which you can progress. However, if you don't, you might find them quite confusing and not progress as you would expect. Equally, mathematical knowledge provides a good starting block from which to progress. If you're looking for a straightforward, simple 'throw-a-few-things-together-and-create-a-game' approach, you'll not find it. However, this is where the strength of Darkbasic lies. I bought this product because it is aimed at beginners and includes extensive tutorials. Just be aware if you have Adobe 8 on your computer and possibly other versions (this is a long-standing problem with this software as I learned afterwards from forums online complaining about the same thing), you will not have access to the tutorials. I have gone through the suggested support options on the Serif site and it has made no difference. I have also emailed them several times and there has been no reply. So if you need the tutorials like I do, avoid this product--you won't be able to access them and Serif customer support is non existent.
