The issue of likely growing interest in viruses being written for attacks on Macs is an accident waiting to happen - as Mac User magazine (11th April 2008) recently wrote the fact pattern with growing use of Mac computers means that in their estimation 2008 will be the year the Mac hackers finally break through and recent experiments at the CanSecWest security conference demonstrated in an open competition between hackers how easy this is!
The problem with this offering is that it is Mac OS specific and so a system covering the Windows "side" if that is your set up through using Boot Camp or more likely Parallels or a comparable system on the same computer is left open to viruses. For such joint users this product will be of minimal ... Read More:

Dear Hopeful Buyer,
I cannot beginning to express how disappointed I am with the this product.
I am not one who would usually write a review, but my disbelief at the poor customer service, pushed me to warn as many as I could.
For starters, this product is really overpriced, considering how little it actually does.
Even after doing a full PC scan and successfully detecting 2 Trojans and one bit of malware, there was no action taken to remove it. Nor was it quarantined. What then is the point?
I might as well have open the window and throw my money outside.
I then call the customer service and was informed that I would have to pay a £1 a min, to even speak to techinal support. This is crazy , nobody should ... Read More:

I am not an IT expert, but simply an everyday computer- and internet-user who needs to have PC tools that are easy to use and install and which don't slow down the system too much.
This product installed very quickly, has a nicely-presented and user-friendly interface, and picked up a few problems with my PC right from the off. I have noticed since installing the program that there is a slight delay in my internet browser coming up when the PC is first booted up, but thereafter it runs fine. Other than this minor delay after first logging in, the program does not appear to have affected the running of my computer or slowed performance down. I am quite happy with how this product works.

I purchased this product, installed it on my Vista laptop and had an initial issue with it popping up repeatedly saying that I had a trial version, when I had purchased a full version with multiple licenses. I tried with their online support team and then telephone support to resolve this issue. No one was able to resolve the issue and then when the so called 'trial period' ended it stopped working altogether. I once again spent endless hours on the telephone and with online tech help to try and resolve this issue and in the end downloaded a new bit defender from a link they sent me which stopped my laptop working completely. I could only operate my computer from safe mode and had no internet capability. I had to completely uninstall the product and remove ... Read More:

A agree with all the others who posted negative reviews - not only did it slow the computer to a standstill, performing scans constantly, but after un-installing it I found that it was still running a process in the background with I had to remove manually, along with a lot of other files the uninstall had failed to remove.
I would also like to complain about the large number of so called reviews that read suspiciously like adverts for anti-virus programs. Anyone who has used this product could not reasonably give it five stars. What proceedures does amazon have to prevent interested parties writing fake reviews?
Many of the five star reviewers seem entirely certain that 'norton protects against all viruses/spyware etc - how can they know ... Read More:

I have used Norton/Symantec products for over 10 years and love the products, but why does the company have to be so dodgy.
Firstly, when the 1 year updates end, they want you to subscribe or upgrade, but they don't value you as a customer. Year after year I find they want more money to simply upgrade than you can actually buy a new product for. Last year they wanted £39.99 just to send me a number to continue my subscription, yet I bought a brand new product, boxed, posted etc etc from Amazon for £24.99.
I have bought the new 2008 product this year from a shop for £29.99. I bought this 4 months early because I wanted the free System Works & Go Back. I have used this for many years, but my current product didn't work when I upgraded to Vista. Rip off number ... Read More:
