I bought my copy of FTM from the USA via ancestry.com website without it dawning on me that I could have ordered it from Amazon (cost a bit more, too. Doh!). Looking at the screenshots and reading other reviews, I am sure it's the same product, except mine came with a DVD tutorial and a CD full of old American postcard pictures; not particularly useful in my case, but interesting.
I had dozens of names in my existing tree saved in a GedCom file and these were quickly imported into the program; I only had to make a couple of changes to date formats. Also, and I don't expect the UK version to be any different, the locations that were imported tended to be American; ie 'Birmingham' brought up a map of Alabama. These ambiguities are easily ... A very good program, which I love using - but there are issues.
Minor fault Some of the lower ranked 'opponants' on the program make some very strange moves - for example, sacrificing the Queen for no reason at all - when they are winning. This turns the game around immediately. Major fault ...... The program sometimes calls a stalemate - (thus ending the game) when it is clearly not a stalemate. Quite often, this happens just as I'm about to call an extremely obvious checkmate. Having said that, I would still recommend this program. >>More Details |

I've been using this product to help with my academic writing. I'm amazed at how accurate the recognition software is and how it remembers and improves the more you use it. I now dictate everything and correct any mistakes when I do a readthrough and edit what I did wrote, which I always did when typing anyway so it's no extra work. I would recommend anyone who does a lot of typing to try this software.
The only gripe is the headset which is a bit low quality and quite painful after a while, typically I could work 2 hours at a go after which my head hurt. I bought a more comfortable set (less than £10) but the ear pads made my ears overheat. In the end I butchered the original headset and adapted the microphone to sit on my desk. After running ... Have just loaded MS Office 2007 pack into my PC (XP system) and am very impressed with the new Word 2007 & Excel 2007 layouts. Unfortunately, I also tried to load the software into my wife's laptop (Vista operating system) but Vista doesn't like it - everytime she clicks on the Word 2007 icon the software starts installing itself all over again. Vista is really pretty awful - where's that nice button on Control Panel which says 'Install New Programs' - seems to have disappeared in Vista.

this is definately a item to have if your looking to take a theory test for large vehicles. i have this item up for sale on amazon as i have no use for it anymore as im now an lgv driver. this cd helped me alot couldnt have passed the theory without it!
