I'm giving this 5 stars because versions 8 and 9 between them have saved me so much time and money, but I can fully appreciate its limitations for other people. What works really really well, is dictating a long report into a digital recorder, transferring the sound file to the PC, and then leaving Dragon to get on with transcribing it into Word, which on a good PC will be at about 250wpm. I'd say the accuracy on this basis really is 99% at the very least, and this using onboard sound rather than an additional sound card.
Otherwise, my experience has been that:
Minijack microphones just don't work. The connection isn't tight enough, and even with a USB microphone the sound properties will probably have been changed ... Read More:

I have no problem with the content as such (tend to agree with previous reviewers), however, the software looks ancient. You only get it to work if logged in as an Administrator, or the program halts prompting a message "Error opening tune file ...". The tune file referred to cannot be found on the computer either because (it seems) this is internal to the program which is quite hopeless as you cannot do anything with the prompt message even if you're software literate (such as changing the folder/file permission as appropriate, assuming it's access permission problem which appears to be the case). The Publisher indicates Windows XP as being supported, but really NO, that is NOT the case if you cannot run the program as an ordinary User of the computer. ... Read More:

If you love Nancy Drew games this is one that would look good on your shelf. It is quite funny to swith with Bess once in a while, and still it is a game with Nancy as the main person. A lot of the puzzels are understandable, and not too difficult. And with this game Herinteractive has tried something new, to make rain. It is a great touch that this is not yet an other game with sun or wild weater outside.
It it a fun game, but i wouldn't recomend it as your first Nancy Drew game, because it is kind of just puzzle after puzzle with very little sleuting.
I will give the game 3½ start really (I gave it 3), because the charecters are great, the start is teriffic and there are lots of great things, but the game has too many puzzles and too ... Read More:

I purchased this product because a very good friend of mine uses it on his laptop, while he is away on business, he is a photographer and graphic designer who sometimes utilises film in his work. I mentioned the reviews mentioned here and he said that he had never experienced any problems i described, he also said that most of the problems sound like they are caused by hardrives that operate at 5400 rpm's that cannot keep up with video editing make sure you are on a 7200 rpm drive. Also you will require a video/graphic card with at least 64Mb of ram.
We run it on an ACER laptop from pc world and it works a treat, we dont have any problems creating, editing rendering or burning and i would recomend it to anyone as long as you have the correct hardware to let the ... Read More:

what a pity, I was having a nightmare trying to get some decent security on my new laptop, as reviewed, the norton that came with it was a disaster, zonealarm didn't load properly and had errors so I tried panda, all looked good, a nice simple piece of software quietly getting on with the job, couple of days down the line on the trial it just stopped working, wouldn't update and said everything was disabled? Bizare so had to uninstall. Anyone got any ideas what caused this, or had it happen. For now I have loaded mcafee and well see how the new 2009 offerings pan out....great software, I used to use 2004 along time ago and was always impressed. It may have been a blip but with the escalted malware situation at the mo it's not worth the risk! These programmes have to work ... Read More:
