The product is an absolute joke. And the Technical Support / Customer Service at Symantec is even worse.
1.) Upon Starting the PC I am greeted with multiple pop-ups - Virus Definitions Out of Date and Virus Scan Out of Date etc etc. On entering the software everything is ok.....
2.) The system seems to hang on the "one button check up" during the Norton Cleanup scan and then after 30 minutes will find files to clean up. Example found 763 then cleaned. Immediately ran again and found 1091, then cleaned (again). Immediately ran again and found 2111.
3.) Have used Symantec Chat on 4 occasions and each time they tell me that it is sorted. When I start the computer again, the problems start again.
This new version of Office has too many problems. In addition to the slow performance the lack of compatability with other versions (meaning settings have to be changed to save files in the old format) makes day to day operation a pain. Added to that network operation on classic Office files is very uncertain.
I have tried three service pack versions. The first one wouldn't open Excel XLS files through the network, then after the next service pack it did, after the next fix pack it didn't.
Files seem to randomly get saved into last used save folders when they have been opened from somewhere else. If you want basic Word processing and spreadsheet analysis with presentation save money and buy iWork. The learning curve will be shorter than ... Read More:

This DVD Rom has all the answers and, more importantly, all the questions needed to pass the UK Driving Test. It is a very reasonably priced package featuring an informative sleeve and the DVD Rom itself; there is no booklet or other printed information - everything is screen based. Most people these days are familiar with Computer Based Training and will find the presentation of this material pretty user friendly and intuitive. Although most users will probably be young anyone taking their test later in life will also find this programme fairly easy to master.
Some of the content, such as the latest edition of the Highway Code, is printable should a hard copy be required for studying. Also, some of the content can be transferred onto portable ... Read More:

This is probably one of the only dvds around that lets you know what to really expect in the actual hazard perception test which makes it wonderful for the theory test preparation.

Having had McAfee business edition a couple years back, i tried Norton last year but i didnt like the interface of it and the software had some issues on my computer (errors etc). I decided to go back to McAfee with this package (3 computer licence is a bonus too).
I have had it running for three days now, it was very easy to install and takes you through everything that might not be so familiar. It is an easy to use package, however, on my old PC, Centrino 1.6GHz, 1G ram, it does run slow when starting and loading the McAfee, and im not sure if its me being paranoid but im sure the software takes up more memory space than norton did. This leads to other applications loading a bit slower. All in all though, i would recommend it if you have a PC of a ... Read More:

Remember when Nero looked like a piece of shareware, well version 8 still does.
I purchased Nero 6 when it first came out and found it a most user friendly piece of software, but with Nero 8 they have totally lost the plot.
It's like trying to find your way around a maze!
If your current version does everything you want, stick with it.
Me I'm reloading Nero 6.
One Care is a fully comprehensive anti-virus program, firewall program it also has backup and restore utilities and system tune-up options. I have usually used separate products for each of these functions but decided to give One Care a go after purchasing a new computer with Vista Home rather than XP on it.
The initial installation could not be easier (unlike when I have tried McAfee on a laptop) and the programme integrates seamlessly with all my applications: Word Excel Outlook Etc and then provides simple and easy to understand popup (much like you get with Internet Explorer) when it detects any problems changes etc whilst running your PC. Another bonus is that it seems to take up less memory/processor speed than other antivirus/security programs I have used ... Read More:

This is great value. I hesitated about purchasing partly because of the reviews, including the ones that say it steals the full screen. If you work in Full Edit mode it does NOT do this (or not on my MacBook at any rate) - the desktop is visible and accessible at the bottom of the screen behind the dock.
I also wondered whether I might end up paying nearly £100 for something that was not a lot better than iPhoto but much less functional than full Photoshop. In actual fact it is a significant advance on iPhoto for image manipulation and does everything I want just as well as the full version would.
The only downside I have encountered is that it is not intuitive to use and the included documentation is poor. To be fair, Adobe do recommend that you use ... Read More:
