I've been using Photostory for a month. Before that I struggled with Ulead Pictureshow, Adobe Photoshop Elements 5 and Premiere Elements 3 and Acrobat 7 for .... strewth, a year? Seemed like two. Magix Photostory is streets ahead of this competition if you want to produce slideshows. It just does that, and very well. The others (apart from Ulead) range far wider, and in my opinion, fail. Photostory is not faultless, but by the standards prevailing, it is excellent.
Good points - The timeline is excellent, and this is where you spend your time. Navigating back and forth never makes this program lag or jump, unlike the others. Cakewalk did a fantastic job with Music Creator - as simple as that.
It comes with video tutorials to get to know the software, which is great. MIDI setup was no problem at all - it just works as it should. Registration was my biggest concern when the well known dialog box appeared (not logged in as administrator) but worked out OK this time...phew... Overall it's very stable so far but with like any audio software, make sure your VST/s and VSTi/s work - meaning if they don't work Music Creator might crash (I had this problem with 1 VST and removed it). In my opinion, the most effective and easy to use product of its type on the market. Totally erases your browsing history, totally obliterates files that actually remain on your computer long after they've been supposedly deleted from your Recycle Bin. Zoo Vet is a game where you treat sick animals from penguins to elephants. All sort of animals you'd find in the wild, I suppose.
Firstly you meet three (I think) vets who are realy scary! I do not like the men or the woman, but anyway, they help you through your jobs of looking after the animal. You get a sort of tuturial at first where you treat a bear or something and they tell you what to do! I've got lots of tropheys in the cabinet, you get them if you sucessfully treat an animal. If you want to treat an animal you go to your map in YOUR office, you can choose what office you want, and the animal or animals that need treated are flashing on the map. This is perfect as it teaches a bit of French but is also very entertaining.
My 3 year old uses level 1 as it lets them choose what to click and then tells them the French for it. My 5 year old is on level 2 and loves the challenge as on this level they are directed (in French) what to click. Very clearly spoken but the instructions for a couple of the games can be a bit vague. >>More Details |

Spend a bit more money if you must and buy X4 or even X3 - Corel do not support this application anymore and THAT is the reason it is cheaper.
I recently bought CorelDRAW Graphics Suite 12 from Amazon with a view to upgrading when more familiar with the software...but I can barely use it on my computer. Whenever I try to save or even open an existing document, the application recovery manager comes up and tells me the application has become unstable, its very annoying. There is nothing wrong with my pc, probably one of my applications is incompatible with Corel, however Corel offer no advice or guidence on this particular product as it is too old.
