i bought this software for myself as i am soon to start my lessons. I can honestly say that it is a great programe and very helpful. The video lessons and then being able to try it out yourself, whilst being guided throughout is so encouraging.
I would say however, that if you want it to work best, you need a very big RAM, i thought mine was big enough, but if it isn't, you can't always understand what the instructor is saying in the video's and sometimes it picks up on faults that you haven't made. I've been using Kaspersky for about three years now (we have 6 computers in our house) and although the newer versions can cause reduced performance, an experiment using Windows Live One Care clearly demonstrated that while the latter does not impair performance, it doesn't protect from infected emails even when suspect attachments are stored locally and scanned manually. When these attachments were forwarded to a machine with Kaspersky, the virus was IMMEDIATELY and promptly detected and dealt with. I'll stick to the one that works, but I wish they'd address the performance issues.

I have personally found 'Tiger' to be the most efficient OS X to date, and therefore a real favourite for a couple of years when I was working in a graphics department. Their is no doubt Leopard is a beautiful upgrade, containing a stated "300+ upgrades", however, it is by no means essential if you Mac is work work purposes. The extra features we've found are not for the productive side of things, but more for consolidating files, making things visually look better, and a few notable new programs.
In short, Leopard would no doubt be a great update for the Media orientated users, but if you're all work and no play, it's actually not that essential. "Snow Leopard" has already been announced for next year anyway, and was stated would improve ... Read More: >>More Details |

This is, in my opinion, an excellent purchase. The Dazzle is effective and does exactly what it says it does. I found the software quick and easy to install, and there was no need for any "patches" on my system (Vista), unlike (I think) on some older versions of the program.
The software itself is perfectly simple and effective - it takes you through step-by-step, and allows you to customise the menus of the DVDs with the included templates or your own images. It's slightly limited if you wanted the DVDs to look more professional, but for my uses it was quick and easy. It also allows you to add music and alter the fonts/layouts of the scenes. I approached upgrading my Dell Inspiron laptop with trepidation after reading many negative reviews about Windows Vista in several forums/reviews. However, I decided to take the plunge when I spotted a copy of Vista Ultimate with SP1, Upgrade version, on Amazon Market-place for £99.95, from vic2302.
I won't pretend that the upgrade process was easy......several programmes on my PC, even those that were supposedly "Vista compatible", had to be re-installed after the upgrade in order to work properly.....including Norton Internet Security 2008. I've used Dragon 9 for some years: it works pretty well. But I was seduced by the manufacturers' claims about version 10, so shelled out. Beware. The blogs are filling up with people who have not managed to install it at all. Most of the issues arise with Vista, and seem to involve major surgery in terms of downloading fixes and patches etc. Most of us couldn't get our heads round that. I tried to install it on XP, on top of version 9 (which it's theorstically designed to do), and even that failed to complete. (New nachine, loads of RAM, BTW.) Dis-installing it only worke 90% and dis-installing Version 9 (to create an opportuntiy for a clean re-try) has also failed. A real mess. The software is not fit for release. Stick to version 9 and save your money!

This game needs a patch downloaded from sega before it will even load. The patch no longer seems to be available as we several hours trying to get it to download. No patch thus no game so total waste of money.

I bought Guitar Pro 5 to supliment an old music writing programme that only wrote in standard notation - the aim being to convert then print music in TAB notation. However, I have discovered that Guitar Pro does more that that! Perhaps the most useful feature is its ability to download from other web sites arrangements of songs that have already been transcribed in Guitar Pro format. Not only can you download, modify if required, and print off these arrangements, but they can also be played on your computer. This allows you to fade whichever instrument you play and then jam along with your computer while reading the TAB that advances with the song.
