I changed my computer and Vista came with it. Many of my favourite digital photo programmes will no longer run, Vista no longer even supports picture it (thier own programme) and instead have a very limited photo programme where you can look at them or print them.
The drivers for my creative mp3 players are not supported nor the programmes that come with the players. The driver and programme for my wife's sony mp3 is not supported. The driver for my digital camera is not supported. This has become a total farce. I guess this would be a reasonable system if you are just starting out new but when you need to replace either the operating system or the programmes and players you already have then I afraid the vista gets evicted and I go back ... I know that nothing will persuade die-hard Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop supporters to abandon their favorite software, but when you see what you get for £100 with Corel X3, when compared to about £1000 for the Adobe equivalent, the case is made, at least for me. I have to spend my own money when I buy software software.
Having used earlier versions some years ago, I found X3 easy to use and very stable in Win XP. Newbies should expect a steep learning curve, but that is only to be expected with software of this power and capability. This game is what is commonly referred to online as a "hidden object" game. In other words you have a list of objects that you must find to progress to the next level.
The game is made up of about 20 levels and is lots of fun. There is also a bonus game which is unlocked if you find 20 keys hidden throughout the game. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because, for me, it lacked plot and had few mini games, which are quite common with this type of game. The only mini game it did have was a matching pairs game (which alternates between match the pictures, match the colours, and match old to new). Norton... hard to review as it is so slick, and performs brilliantly. Latest tweaks to the programme are resource friendly updates, a new method of deep cleaning an infected PC or laptop if you are unlucky enough to have to install this on an infected machine, and of course the new licence feature, meaning you can install this programme on 3 machines running Windows (XP or Vista) in the same household. So, in summary this is the bare bones anti virus programme; If you need more of a complete suite of automated PC or laptop care Norton sells that in the form of Internet Security, or 360.

Don't think about using this for technical writing.
Besides the more general problems with Office 2007 (such as the greater time spent looking for various operations on all of the different menu tabs, the greatly reduced ability to customise the toolbars) there are big specific problems with technical writing. 1) Biggest problem: There are many journals that will not accept the docx format. Word 2007 CAN NOT save manuscripts in 'regular' .doc format, only a pseudo .doc format. For instance, equations are saved as uneditable graphics images. For those people serious about improving their mental abilities, I would advise them to steer clear of this software. The exercises are not varied enough to offer great benefit and the performance measures have many shortcomings. To be honest, I don't think much research was done on the subject before this product was made.

It's a definite buy for learner drivers as it has everything you need to practice and learn. The theory test in this program is very similar to the real exam, in terms of questions and the way you answer the multiple choice part of the exam. The hazard perception part of this software is also brilliant. It also uses a similar system to the one used in the official exam. Using this program I achieved 49/50 on the multiple choice part and 50/75 on the hazard perception section. I would highly recommend this program for learner drivers for both the theory and practical side of learning to drive.

I bought this DVD as my partner had a previous version last year, and he passed the test. So I bought this one again but with a latest version.
But I am not really happy with it, the picture is not clear at all, for example, I cannot see the car's breaking lights or indictor, so of course I cannot respond as quickly as I can. It was really depressing for me, and I thought it was my own problem.... Anyway, I don't like. >>More Details |
