It has helped my kids a lot! This Learning Pack is great value and is ideal for all types of 11 to 14 year olds - by all 11 and 14 year olds I mean the clever ones, the strugglers etc.
My kids love this Learning Pack because it has some very fun video games on it, and you can play these games after answering every 3 educational questions, which is very clever, as now kids just like video games!
I just hate one thing about this: That stupid little robot called Doctor Jay, or something. Doctor Jay just supports you, like if you get a question right, he cheers and stuff and if you get it wrong he says "Oh no!" etc. I hate that robot so much, I had to take 1 star off!!!
But I would definetly recommend this to anyone!!

I've been playing music now for many years using keyboards and synths, but I always disliked the idea of learning music theory. I felt it was always better to learn through experimentation and practise rather than by rote from a book. Perhaps it was the memory of all those stuffy, slightly abstract music lessons I took in school that put me off music theory. It seemed that music theory had nothing to do with real music as it is played.
However, as time went on I wanted to go back and fill in the blanks. My philosophy on writing music is like learning to speak: you learn through listening to others and expressing yourself in your own way, then after a time you learn the alphabet and begin writing formally. So I decided to learn ... Read More:

This is very primitive software. It's something you'd expect from the early 90s - not from 2007. Firstly, even though it gets installed on the hard-drive it will not run entirely from there - you have to put the CD back in each time you want to use it. This is rather annoying because not only do you need to dig out the original CD each time you also have to trust your three year old not to bust the CD drive. This is an almost certainty given the fact that for each BBC/GSP game they will have to open the CD tray and then load and unload a new disk.
The opening video sequence is also poor. It is very low resolution (again à la 1990s) and the sound quality leaves much to be desired.
I've been a bit slow to join in the Sudoku craze as I've never been a big numbers fan so I thought I'd ease myself in with this CD-ROM since it was only £4.99...and now I'm addicted and really quite good!!
I hadn't really got a clue what I was supposed to do to solve a Sudoku puzzle, so I started out with the tutorial which explained the rules and hints really well and began my mission on the 4x4 puzzles! I know these are probably meant to be for younger players but they were a great way to learn the basics. Whenever you put in a wrong number, it highlights your entry (as long as you've got it turned on) in red so that you can put it right before getting all the way to the end and finding out you'd done something wrong somewhere!!
