Unlike previous "upgrades" to Excel, this is a leap into a very different user interface. Previous Excel experts may find themselves spending whole minutes trying to locate features they previously knew by shortcut, and aggrevated by the ribbon bar which flicks about unexpectedly when your finger accidentally slips onto your scroll wheel, but all in all it's worth it.
Previously Excel was limited to a mere 256 columns, and many options such as Conditional Formatting etc. were limited to 3 rules. I bought this product last year, and yes it works, it does put controls on whatever you ask it to. BUT since it was installed on the pc there has been nothing but troubles with a perfectly good pc before it was installed. It seemed to attract viruses (could be coincedence) and it has had to be uninstalled and reinstalled more times than I care to remember. Also it runs out after a year and you have to pay again for the next year and every other year after.Surely there's something that works as well at blocking content, but once you've bought it then you own it for good. Not impressed and wish I'd purchased something else.

I got the box a day earlier than estimated and also there was a Bonus CD included ("Adobe Creative Suite 3 Video Workshop") with a lot of useful tutorials ...
You will have to send proof of eligibility (you will find the details in the box) to Adobe in order to get a serial number. I got mine 10 days later although it's not supposed to take more than a week according to Adobe's notes... The software works very well so far and the price is very low compared to the non-student edition. >>More Details |

At the moment this software is going for a song (we paid just £29 from Amazon). The package includes the full Encarta reference library 2007. Encarta hasn't got anything like the depth in articles as Encyclopedia Britannica Ultimate reference suite 2007, but I can't imagine many year 9 school children wanting a scholarly detailed account of the action of CD4+ lymphocytes when looking up AIDS. That's where Encarta scores, it's far more kid friendly with fun as well as facts - it's simply infinitely more entertaining than Britannica and ideal as a family reference. Encarta's greater brevity is just right for a younger audience, plus you get a free upgrade to Encart Premium [on-line] but only until 31st October 2007.
