Great software.
Vegas platinum is in a nice, comfortable zone between free software(windows moviemaker) and expensive software (Adobe premiere). The result is steady video editing software with a few tricks up its sleeve, including hundreds of special effects and transitions. great quality videos as well, considering the outstandingly low price. The interface is easy to use, editing is easily mastered and the "show me how" option is a great way for beginners to learn. Vegas is alos the only video editing software ive come across that supports .aac audio files. Meaning i can use all the music from my itunes in my videos. I had this product shipped directly from Sony USA as I needed it to work on a wedding video I recently shot.
I already own Movie Studio 8 Plat edition and have upgraded so that I can work in 1920x1080 video and export directly to Blu-ray. It's an amazing piece of software and I can thoroughly recommend it for the semi-pro/competent amateur. The pro's would naturally be looking at Vegas Pro, but for less than £100 I can hardly think of a more advanced package. I am using a Sony SR12E camcorder and have output a few projects in high defintion using Vegas and it really has to be seen to be believed. High quality output really is at your fingertips. Power Director 7 Ultra is a comprehensive software tool that will give you lots of options to edit your video/images into a really good looking DVD. I used to use Nero Express for several years to make amateur DVD's including my wedding and honeymoon. However this software has far more customization options from effects, making menus, visual effects, transition effects and sound. You need to ensure that you're system is fast enough to use it to it's full effect though otherwise it runs really slowly.

My son is making an XBox 360 video for You Tube. Many similar videos referenced Dazzle so he bought one. Our PC is much more than adequate as I use it for composing music so sound card /graphics etc - - all high spec.
Dazzle is most definitely not the right product. Check out the other reviews. When I looked on You Tube - - they're all Americans who referenced Dazzle. Get something else. >>More Details |

Having been using a product I purchased 4 years ago and trying to use that for capturing hdv, this product is a godsend, I use it to capture hdv from my Cannon HV20 and it works perfectly no problems whatsoever, nice and easy and fast. The cd burning is awesome it takes only a couple of minutes to burn a full cd, my old product used to take around 11 minutes (nero essentials). Probably my only gripe I have with this product is that some of the applications take a while to load, perhaps instead of making it look so pretty they (Roxio) should of concentrated on efficency.

Having used Final Cut Express 3.5 for a while now, and after editing numerous projects I welcomed version 4's release however I must admit to being rather disappointed. The new features seem next to non-existant and although Apple are really pushing the new version I would be tempted to go with version 3.5 as your paying a lot less and getting basically the same package. Parhaps when version 5 is released in the future it will be a bit more of a step forward as opposed to a step sideways.

I brought this product 4 weeks ago, its brilliant. l have been using it to Record TV and Camcorder footage to a hard drive. The wonderful thing about it is l can put recordings onto my newphews PSP and my ipod, and you dont have to be a clever clogs to do it. Actually, l must say, l am away quite often and have to do my bit to meet clients in the evening, so l take it with me and record TV programs from hotel television, straight to my hard drive and watch it when l get back in. THIS IS A MUST HAVE.

This is the worse piece of software i`ve ever encounted for use on vista !!! It crashes , freezes and locks up at the drop of a hat whilst trying to do the most basic of editing tasks like adjusting clip volume . I would not recommend this product to anyone , put your money into something that actually works from adobe.
