Now I'm no musician in fact I can't play a note and I have a singing voice like a cat being strangled. Despite these obvious shortcomings, back in the 80's some mates and I formed a band. None of us could sing, one could play guitar and one the keyboard with 1 finger. We recorded 2 albums of songs to amuse ourselves and our mates.
Now 20 odd years later we're all pushing 40 and 2 of us reformed the band, the two of us that couldn't play a note. So I bought this program and the Sound Essentials 6 pack and the 2 of us sat down to write some songs. And its a piece of cake. Thousands of different backing tracks are possible in all sorts of styles. We've already done a Reggae number, Hip Hop and a Bluesy Rock type one.
Im glad this seller no longer exists cos he sold me a fake product. I tried to get assistance from Nero and they said the serial was fake, so if this guy pops his ugly head up again, be warned !

Everyone with a video capable iPod will know how frustrating it is that while it seems to be OK legally to rip a commercial CD into iTune for use on your iPod, that this is a no no for commercial DVDs. For this reason, this product will not rip commercial DVDs into mp4 format for the iPod, PSP etc. It does work with home recordings, but in truth even for this I found this software to be very slow, and quite often it would crash (a common problem with Pinnacle video related products). There are better shareware programmes out there which can be downloaded from the net (some of which will even rip commercial DVDs), which will do the same job much more quickly and with out the crashes. So really I could not recommend this product.

I recently purchased this from Amazon and I am at pains to wonder why on earth I didn't purchase it before. The options about what you want to do and how you want to do it are there from the word go. If it was a video game it would score high on the pick up and play axis. It is straight forward to use and very easy to install. There are a few things that could have been better for me. 1. It has replaced windows media player as my default player and while this is easy to put right I wish it hadn't done it. I like and am familiar with windows media player. 2. It only gives you 20 goes with converting copied content to mp3. I find this a bit odd because all the mp3 players I have owned have come with a cd-rom that contains an mp3 converter. Also, my mp3 players ... Read More:

I've been playing music now for many years using keyboards and synths, but I always disliked the idea of learning music theory. I felt it was always better to learn through experimentation and practise rather than by rote from a book. Perhaps it was the memory of all those stuffy, slightly abstract music lessons I took in school that put me off music theory. It seemed that music theory had nothing to do with real music as it is played.
However, as time went on I wanted to go back and fill in the blanks. My philosophy on writing music is like learning to speak: you learn through listening to others and expressing yourself in your own way, then after a time you learn the alphabet and begin writing formally. So I decided to learn musical notation and theory to round ... Read More:

I've never previously bothered paying for DVD software. I've already got 4 free software DVD players from different companies and they all have their strengths and weaknesses but at the end of the day they play DVDs that look and sound great on my PC so who cares about anything else.
Until last week when I bought a 2nd-hand CRT widescreen TV with Dolby Digital and Pixel Plus and started to become obsessed by virtual surround sound. My studio and living room are too small for a decent affordable wireless surround sound set-up; my wife refuses to have the wires trailing everywhere and I refuse to fork out a penny for a sub-standard system so I started to research virtual surround which led me to decide on two purchases: a set of surround sound headphones for the living ... We bought this for my daughters to use, and it does everything they need it to, and they find it easy to use. They have the same version at school and it is absolutely great for composing, arranging etc - they haven't yet had anything they needed to do and couldn't.

No problems here. When my wife got an iMac I tried using iMovie but soon reverted to Studio 11. Doesn't seem to work for some but I would recommend it 100%.
