I was a bit disappointed with this. It does function well in the sense that it tells you when the selcted time period is up and your turn has ended (and gives some handy warning beeps in advance,) but I didn't like having to unscrew part of the base of it to put the batteries in and to be honest I thought that the feel and beeps of the product were rather old-fashioned. I would have liked to see how much time I had left on my turn too. The loud beeps also aren't ideal for playing late at night. All this said, I do use the timer as my boyfriend wouldn't play Scrabble with me otherwise as I take too long to think what word to choose!

My five year old girl has had hours of fun with this. She loves playing with all her different puppies that we have and she tries to learn all their names that they are given. She loves setting out the house and moving all the puppies to the different rooms, and she makes up stories about them all. I dont have a problem with the quality - better than some of the 'plastic toys' that can be bought for girls - I think the playhouse gives endless hours of fun, imaginative play
